Is this a roman nose? It looks bulbous and a lot of Sicilians and Greeks have it. Some moroccan jews have this bulbousy nose shape as well. Roman nose is like Charlton Heston's nose.

John Lennon's one of the very few Europeans with the truly Middle Eastern hooked nose. If you darkened his auburn hair and threw Arab clothes on him, nobody would think he stood out in a crowd of Saudi oil tycoons. Your saying ff you darkened him he'd look Saudi? Bwa-ha-ha-ha-ha...

I have always thought that two of the best examples of the "Roman" Nose could be found on the faces of the two foes of Napoleon at Waterloo: Arthur Wellesley, the Duke of Wellington, and Field Marshall von Bluecher of Prussia.

Arthur Wellesley seems to be a perfect match going after that picture.

I can't be leave how many keystrokes have been wasted debating the anthropological signficance of the terms roman and jewish nose, to people really think that much thought went into the origin of either term. The both imply a convex nose cause their associated with both groups its that simple. Their also associated with native americans, eagles and hooks. Christ people do people of roman descent genereal have different nose shape then jewish people sure. But the two terms both just mean convex nose its that simple.

The amount of though that has gone into it is irrelevant. There's no denying that we are dealing with two clearly different concepts here. I have no problem recognizing either type, the two are quite different from one another. But this is really a matter of esthetics and folklore, rather than anthropology.
