Arabs are caucasian. Not European, but caucasian. The confusion is that, mohammed defined "Arab" as anyone whose mother tongue in Arabic. But racially speaking, the pure, original Arabs are caucasian. Which modern day Egyptian is caucasian? They all appear to be Arab or lighter skinned African to me.

Because that's how it goes. For the same reason why modern northern Europeans are civilised and practice a middle Eastern religion instead of dancing around naked in the woods to celebrate the summer equinox or something like that. Culture doesn't have anything to do with genetics. In a few thousand years, chances are that most people's cultures will change drastically either because of the internal contradictions of their society or because of external influence. Many people who are racially amerindian, for instance, have a culture that's mostly European. The same goes for any people who's been politically and/or culturally conquered or heavilly influenced by another one. But besides race...if modern Egyptians really are the children of the Ancient Egyptians, why is the culture so different? Most Egyptians are Muslim...a minority are Christian. Out of genuine interest. Anyone know?

" Great definition! They became a descent place only 3 centuries ago and they are feeling superior thinking they built the World!

The ancient Egyptians were not negrids. They had strict laws preventing negrids from entering Egypt. The negrids could only trade as far as the island of Meroe. The Egyptians were most likely Berbers influenced by the cultures of the Middle East and the Med islands not by anything from Africa. . I think there is plenty of genetic material left from ancient Egypt and enough bones and skulls to make proper reconstruction of their appearance and make up. I saw only portraits of Egyptians painted in realistic manner on coffin covers and wrappings, the so called mummy portraits from Hellenistic period of Egypt, which are life-size, striking, haunting and quite incredible pieces of art. These are real faces of real people from the past and they say a lot of how Egyptians looked like about 2000 years ago. The portrait in tempera covered the area of the face of the mummified corpse. They don’t look modern Egyptians do but they don’t look Negroid to me either.
