i started this thread not to instigate anything.i want to see what some of you have to say.but with that said i warn some of you, there is some trollers who jump from message board to message board spewing some spiteful, hateful nonsense.without naming names, some of our members on dodona are fanatical.if you express your opinion(in this case islam) concerning some issues, they will use the same old tricks the fringe extreme groups use (namely the so called "neo nazis"), they will try to some how insult you by calling you a "jew" or the most insane paranoid insult of all "zionist".ok anyway i am a practicing catholic but i also like "studying" or looking up protestantism.but regarding islam,i find it to be a threat.understanding that both islam and christianity have had both an impact on society and shaping of countrys,i find that in my opinion islam to be a repressive religion and a threat to a healthy "democratic" government.(not that i truely know anything about islam, its just what i see and read from biased and unbiased sources)now i understand christianity has had its past of repression upon its people but it all has been in the past.ok let the opinions come....

I have a large number of links to pages regarding Islam in my homepage which are a pretty good expression of my opinion about the religion. With this I am not saying that Muslims are violent or necessarily anti-Western, but the religion is easily interpreted that way, and as such it is prone to imperialistic violence, militarism, and totalitarism. Here are two of the best online resources regarding Islam and the West: Robert Spencer's JihadWatch www.jihadwatch.org Faith Freedom www.faithfreedom.org

Islamic extremism is as much a threat to a democratic system as Christian, Hindu and Jewish extremism. The fact is that all religion should stay out of politics.

Israel IS a Jewish extremist country. Define 'Jewish extremist'. The majority of Israelis and overwhelming majority of Israeli political leadership is not particularly religious. Not any more than Dubya at least, but then you probably don't like him either. If you mean 'Jewish extremist' in the ethnic, not religious sense, then you may have something of a point.

Israel IS a Jewish extremist country. I can´t see what´s wrong about Israelis´ defending their ethnic interests. We should follow their example in the West! Israel should get rid of the Palestinians by massive deportations to Jordan. Likewise , I wish Europe could deport all Muslims to their hellish countries. It´s been done before!

If you´re not Jewish you a a second-class citizen. And Israel don´t have a constitution. And that wall they´re building is just a excuse to steal more territories.

Yes. If you´re not Jewish you a a second-class citizen. Maybe...but you also don't have to join the army. An Arab my age already has a college degree. I'm 22 years old and completely uneducated. Maybe it is, but I think that's a worthy sacrifice to save lives - namely, MY life. Ultimately, the Palestinians are paying for their political mistakes during the past 70 years. They could have had a much larger state if they'd behaved properly. A European example : this is why western Poland is longer a part of Greater Germany.

While Israelis are political masters.

WHAT? Heil Hitler! (you´re not different from the nazi scum) Poor Israelis! I am different because I only want to deport (not exterminate) unassimilable and undesirable aliens. Every country on earth has the right to decide who gets in or out. Nothing extraordinary. Have you read the Auster piece? By the way, I am a Spaniard.
