What claims did I make Erudite! Do you think you know more about Egypt than either me or santana? Get over yourself, you know nothing of Egypt. What unreasonable claim did I make? Do you not believe in the existence of native Egyptian Jews? In the existence of African eunuchs? In the fact that most residents of Cairo were Egyptians? Give me a break. Stop creating strawmen, I've made none of those claims. On the other hand claiming that Arab-Berber mixes are typical Egyptians is frivolous. I just asked for proof. You don't really anything about Egypt except continuously spamming that they aren't Negroids and including them in your fanatsy world of superior pan-Mediterranean brotherhood.

i cant believe ppl question these facts tho... I didn't deny anything, but I can question them. Some people here have a tendency to overstretch and exaggerate the truth. Baladi's claims aren't falsebased on what Alex said.

and we are both egyptian.. we know more about egypt than anyone here.. Obviously, you both know nothing if you agree that ArabĀ“Berbers are typical Egyptians and that Egyptians are pan-Mediterranean and see themselves as belonging to some fantasy Mediterranean race that claims brotherhood with Greeks, Roman, Syrians, Armenians and Turks. Nonsense that goes on in message boards don't necessarily translate ino facts for an entire population.

how do u view egypt and its place in the world ethnically.. Me? I view it as a very Middle Eastern nation that is in every aspect a part of the Middle East moreso than anything else. After Middle East, I'd say it becomes a part of North Africa. For people in the North, especially around Alexandria or Port Said, a trans-Mediterranean feeling of belonging to a wider Mediterranean world is justifiable. I can also see how some people south of Luxor could feel a part of East Africa. Egypt's identity, however, it a Middle Eastern one.

Nonsense that goes on in message boards don't necessarily translate ino facts for an entire population. Okay, the person in question did not study Arabs and Berbers, he studied Egyptians from a sample given to him by Mansoura University- a typical Egyptian town. He was merely saying that Egyptians were intermediate between Arabs and Berbers. The same person also classified ARabic-speaking Morrocans as Arabs. We know that's not true either. He was just trying to make it simple. Face it, those people were Egyptians. Furthermore, how do you know how Egyptians view themselves. FYI, almost no Egyptian that I know feels "African". Yet you have no qualms making Egypt an African civ. I was merely speaking for myself when I cited Mediterranean pride, not all Egyptians. Egyptians definitely see themselves as having more in common wtih Greeks and Armenians and especially Turks and Syrians (us and Syria were one freakin country in the 60s!) than with Ghana for instance.

Sure there's a trans-Mediterranean feeling in northern Egypt, only in your dreams alex. You have no right to lay any claims to civilisations in Greece, Rome, Turkey, and Syria. Stick to your hole wherever you are.
