yeah man, see the problem we have with looking at Egypt's racial construct is basically that we are looking at it from moidern (some here American) definition of race. TBH if a modern day American saw a group of Ancient Egyptians walking down the street the most likely description for them would be "Hispanics" lol. The Ancient egyptians never considered themselves white, negro, med or any of that...they considered themselves Egyptians, period. I get saddened when I see people like Alexandrian whoo grew up in the US, and then tries to use the dividing and peculiar American system of black/white to discount Sub Saharan Africanadmixture in Egypt. get over it alexandrian, its there...no one said Egypt is a negro kingdom Also alot of people have agendas (whitewashers blackwashers, etc) to portray Egypt in their own image. This is obviously due to AE's magnificence everyone will try to claim it. look at it as a by product of AE's success, egyptians should be proud they are given so much attention. its better than being ignored like those Ancient Libyans lol Mujahid...excellent post...I honestly agree wholeheartedly with everything you said above...and it is true that if AEs were walking down the street, people would think they were Hispanics.

Hispanic isn't a race. Hispanics can be of any race. Aside from that, I pretty much agree with Mujahid's post also.

Minstrel thats good point I should have been more clear, I have allot of admiration for the african american legacy in this country Langston hughes is my favorite poet. The point was about a deeper heritage in time history beyond their arrival here, most know their connection to west africa but not were in west africa and few people of any kind are very aware of west africas history. It would be great if AA's claimed Mali, and Songhai and Loango as their cultural history but those civilizations are not well known.

Good question Alexandrian, why the obsession?
@mujahid - are you the guy who compared your nose with akhenaton's, or the guy who copy and pasted his face into tut's sarcophagus?

It would be great if AA's claimed Mali, and Songhai and Loango as their cultural history but those civilizations are not well known. And this is why the Afrocentrism movement to retake Egypt from whitey is so paradoxical to me. The twisted Eurocentrism and Nordicism that Afrocentrists rightly hate so much has triumphed over much of the movement in that most of its followers believe Egypt is the only civilization worth laying claim to. It's either Egypt or nothing at all. Afrocentrism is basically saying terrific empires like Mali and Songhai aren't good enough or long-lived enough when compared to Egypt (and they are good enough, they are very impressive indeed, in my opinion). The peoples of Mali, Songhai, and Kanem Bornu may have been Sudanids rather than Negrids, but at least we know they are definitely Congoid and therefore much closer to being a West African people than the Egyptians. There are of course real West African civilizations worth study, as well, such as Benin and Ife and Akan, and so on and so forth. The obsession with Egypt must end before it demeans all the real black African kingdoms of antiquity.

Alot of teachers in the US are already teaching Egyptians as being past of Black history... What idiocy. Whoring out socially-motivated history in order to make up for past wrongs. How very... reparational. I can't wait to see a black Hannibal! After all, if it's in Africa, it must be black! Doo-dee-doo-dee-doo... Thank god there are people out there like Lefkowitz.

hahaha yeah i heard about his so called deformities and effeminate build...I believe it to be nothing more than civilization's earliest smear campaign. Lets not forget, Akhenaton was an avant-garde who found a new religion, and a new capital...obviously he made some enemies in the priesthood... thats like making enemies of the people who control the media today

Heh, no harm meant. Everyone who knows anything about Egypt knows Akhenaton was certainly one of the most important pharaohs.
