I'm Egyptian, many people consider me Arab, and most people I know consider me "White" or "Mediterranean/Middle Eastern". They treat me as different from Arabs from the Penninsula.

Well diffrent than Arabians maybe, but Levantines(with the exception of "palestinians") tend to be more closer to the european range, egyptians still look somewhat levantine and close to "palestinians"

I think you suffer from an inferiority complex. Why? Is it because he identifies as 'white'? I don't think he has any black or East Asian relatives; should he check the 'African American' box and pretend he deserves a handout because he's not European? He's proud of his heritage, as his username indicates. Don't force your identity on others, and I'm sure he'll extend you the same courtesy. You know, technically you should be checking the 'white' box. Nobody accused you of having an inferiority complex when you broadcasted your decision to the world wide web. That's my two cents.

Im sensing that instead of correcting the notion that calling anyone nigger or sand nigger is wrong, you are more pleased that people identify you as white/mediterranean. This is why I agree with IftheLight that you have an inferiroity complex

The fact of the matter is I don't get associated with islamic terrorists just as I don't get associated with black Africans, I'm not saying racial slurs are right I was just trying to show ghotme that racism against "ARabs" isn't as predominant as he wants to make it seem since I am an "Arab" and it doesn't affect me in a negative way.

I hate to burst your bubble, but nowadays in America sandnigger is almost exclusively about Arabia. Middle Eastern people are dark in comparison to Euros, no one can deny that, it's natural to attach them to some sort of negative word, especially when the most prominent Middle Easterners are brown-skinned terrorists.I don't understand what the big deal is about me not being on the receiving end of any anti-Arab racism.

My father is a gem stone cutter and he deals with many Lebanese christians, I remember this Lebanese guy from Jamaica of all places telling us that even though he is considered a white man in Jamaica, he has many a time heard the term sand-nigger adressed at him by racist Americans

Sand nigger can be applied to any Middle Easterner. Most of the racists who use the word have no idea that the peoples of the Middle East are not all the same. It's just easier for them to lump dusky desert folk in one category. I guarantee you that only one out of every ten people you meet on the street would be able to tell you the difference between a Berber, an Arab, an Iranian, a Kurd, an Egyptian, an Afghan, and so on.

Alexandrian : i don’t see any middeleastern pride in you as you clam. Just because I don't have any connections to Osama Bin Laden doesn't mean I'm not proud of the Middle East. Just because I recognize that although Arabs from the Gulf are similar to Egyptians, we are not the same people doesn't mean I don't have any Middle Eastern pride. Just because I say some Yemenis have negroid blood doesn't mean I'm not proud of being Middle Eastern. I am actually very proud of my Middle Eastern heritage and that is the identity I cling to most, I actually have a stronger Middle Eastern heritage than Mediterranean heritage and I value it more. I am very proud of what our past ancestors did but I weep at how some people take it upon themselves to plunge our once great societies into backwardness.

I'm just saying not all Arabs are treated badly in America, contrary to what CAIR or ADC might want you to think. By the way, people, just to clarify, I'm not saying I don't get grouped with Arabs or sometimes associated with terrorists, but when it happens it's in a joking manner and I'm trying to say I've never been discriminated against because of my heritage.
