Believe me, there are more non white Europeans in the U.K., and France than in Spain or Italy. So, those countries shade of skin color will turn a darker shade long before Spain, or Italy does. ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png)

On a side note: I don’t know about the Italians, (Although Lega Nord has racist views) but we Spaniards are notorious racists. Have you seen what we do at our Football games? Unfortunately here’s a photo of some of my brethrens at a football match. As you can see Spanish people are outwardly racists. www.sky.com/skynews/article/0,,30000-1161216,00.html

I've only visited Italy, but I do know that the U.K. and Britain have more immigrants than Italy or Spain just from what I've read and heard from others who have spent time in the other western European countries. Visigodo, are many Spaniards really that racist against immigrants? I had no idea that anti-immigrant sentiment was that strong among many Europeans. Here in the states we have people like that too, but I guess since Americans are more used to immigration, they're less likely to display explicitly racist attitudes towards non-European immigrants. Out of curiosity, what do Spaniards think of Mexicans and other Latin Americans?

To be honest the average Spaniard doesn’t think anything negative towards Mexicans. I think this has to do with the fact that the everyday Spaniard doesn’t see a Mexican. We do get to see some Mexicans at the University or High school level. (Exchange students) But these Mexicans are not your U.S. immigrant type. They tend to be the white upper class/ middle class Mexicans. (In other words the people who tend to be better-off and will as a result never want to emigrate to the U.S. )
What the Spanish are aware of, is the negative stereotype Mexicans have in the U.S. It’s in all the U.S. films that are sent to Europe. So most Spaniard are aware of the negative view the U.S. has on Mexicans.
There is growing racism towards some Latin Americans. In Spain we usually get people from Ecuador. (Most of the population stock of Ecuador is Amerindian) People in Spain refer to people from Ecuador or other Latin American countries as “Sudakas”. (Offensive slang)
buddyrydell, are you aware of the Lega Nord in Italy? Do you know something about them?

You are right about the Mexican immigrants in the U.S. as well, most represent the main bulk of the Mexican population, in other words mestizos with greater Amerindian ancestry or basically Spanish-speaking Amerindians from the deep south (I've also heard that some of the Amerindians who speak Mayan, Nahuatl, and other indigenous languages are actually starting to immigrate in greater numbers). I have no problem with them, they're only seeking a better life. As to the Italian Lega Nord, I know a bit about them. Their focus is the secession of the northern provinces of Italy into a state called "Padania." They also propogate false claims of racial affinities with Germanic peoples and all. They're pretty racist against not only non-European immigrants, but southern Italian migrants as well. They claim that southerners live off of the work of the north (yet conveniently forget to explain that the north has exploited the south, especially Sicily, since Italy was first unified) and that southern Italians are North African. Northern and southern Italians are really of the same basic ancestry. The only thing is that the southerners have more Greek ancestry while the northerners have some admixture from the ancient Gauls (Celts).

Wow, I knew a little about the lega nord from reading some news clippings, but I especially didn’t know about the part about them being racist towards other Italians. Thanks for the Info. (You see kids you learn something new everyday) I read about how they came out in demonstrations rallies in Milan against Turkey in EU, last year which I am also fully against. Here’s a couple of photos. (number of people at this event: 50k ) ![](http://www.pretigianluca.com/lega/5.jpg) ![](http://www.mgpvenezia.com/manifestazione1.jpg)

Ironically, nearly all of the people in the photos wouldn't look at all out of place in Southern Italy, a fact that is mentioned in the thread. They're dark-haired with all the same Alpine-Med-Dinaric features found commonly in the south. rmregulars.proboards41.com/index.cgi?board=general&thread=1107883189&action=display&start=0

Thanks for the link Josh.

Exactly. Northern and southern Italians are really of the same basic stock. As far as physical types go, the north has a slightly greater concentration of the Alpo-Dinaric types while the south has a bit more of the Mediterranean, but the differences as we've all noted are trivial.

They've made Hannibal predominantly negroid Denzel Washington--why should hair color matter to them? Well for the average american carthago ,africa , so a black man hannibal was ...lol. And Hannibal does nt have the same perception among american, has Alexander If you ask average american about hannibal they will associated with ,cannibal. ( lecter) or an agressiv invader A terrible war chief ( african killer bee ) Not really a romantic 'chevalier' there also a marketing part in the choice of actor Denziel Washington his a good seller even among the white. (never loose in mind that hollywood like money) for my part Hannibal may have look like a med of midle east maybe ...do we have any pictur or sculture of him (look at the bottom) www.angeltowns.com/members/racialreal/phoen_moors.htmlThere are also physical descriptions of him. Tell that to Dienekes! Greece's Alpine, East Med, Dinaric, not just a composite of Med groups. Fresno, a city an hour away from here has a big Greek population. Kopi, the Fox weatherman's Greek. But yeah, there's not too many. There are 20 times more Italians in the US. Them aside, the northern European influence here aren't much blonde at all; hence, the hairdying.

The number of Greek-Americans is about 1 million, not too many. Italian-Americans number about 15 million, still vastly outnumbered by all of the northern European-descended groups put together though. Trying to measure who's Italian German, Irish, or any other type of European heritage in the U.S. is becoming more and more difficult as most Euro-Americans are a composite of different ethnicities. Also, there are plenty of natural blond northern European-Americans running around. I'd say light brown hair is the most common hair color among people of British, Irish, and German descent (the 3 most numerous northern European ethnicities in the U.S.), but blonds are sizable. I also fully understand that my definition of "blond" is more inclusive since my hair is much darker than the average white American, a trait I inherited from my Sicilian father.

I'd like to go to Spain too. I've been to Mexico, which of course has many traits of Spanish culture (excluding race of course), but not Spain itself. My dad has been to Spain and he tells me it's wonderful. He has told me numerous times that he must go to Spain with me before he dies.

buddyrydell, check out Spain when you can. Italians make out pretty well in Spain with the chicks, since our languages are so close. I will say that you Italians know how to romance a girl properly.
Man, I was in Firenze two years ago and was walking with another Spanish friend of mine who was going to School there at the time. Anyway I was walking along Ponte Vecchio, when we saw this Italian guy, with a beautiful girl he had a cloth on the ground, sipping wine, crackers and other stuff laid-out. That’s the way to woo a girl!! We told eachother.
