If anybody took care in reading the paper he will notice it says quite clearly that the reason why Kurds, Armenians, and Turks cluster closer together than with Arabs of the same region is because of the lack of Eu10 chromosomes in the former groups. These Eu10 chromosomes are hypothesised to have been brought in with the conquests of the Arab tribes starting in the 7th century. This explains why Arab groups have these Eu10 chromosomes in elevated frequency whereas the other ethnic groups, which have not been through this process of 'Arabisation' do not have them in the same proportion. Therefore, I can only conclude that to delude oneself in deducing a common origin in the Caucasus of the groups of this study which lack Eu10 chromosomes is a demonstration of a lack of understanding of genetics.

Not the first time Drooperdoo's misrepresented Kurdish, Jewish, and Arab genetics.

Curious6, Here's a link to a Haartez news article entitled: Study finds close genetic connection between Jews, Kurds www.haaretzdaily.com/hasen/pages/ShArt.jhtml?itemNo=96990 The first line of the article states, "The people closest to the Jews from a genetic point of view may be the Kurds, according to results of a new study at the Hebrew University." Professors Ariella Oppenheim and Dr. Marina Feirman conducted the study. You said that ANYBODY who thinks that Kurds and Armenians are genetically close to Jews has a profound ignorance of genetics. Hm. So . . . please: Tell us where you got YOUR doctorate in genetics and what university you teach at. I'm quoting actual scientists here. Forgive me, but their words carry just a wee-bit more weight than an anonymous poster on the internet. So unless you can produce academic credentials superior to these geneticists, I think you better abandon your accusations of "ignorance" and try being more polite when posters like myself quote REAL geneticists. P.S.--I can see why you lampoon the thesis of this thread I mean, look at this map of Kurdistan. Look at the top of the Map and see Georgia. Right next to it is Armenia, and to the south is Israel. We're not talking about Chinese people going to Argentina. All these countries are within walking-distance of each other. But I guess if you say it's ridiculous, I better ignore the map, the genetics and the archaeology.
