I know it's a joke but just for the record I love the French. I love everything about France, the people, the cities, history, cemeteries, castles, literature, music, forests, the food, cars, everything, France is great. J'aime la France. I love you, Ross!

This would be great if it made any sense. World’s biggest oil companies are all US-based or at least part American. The junta that currently runs the US is tightly connected with the oil business. The so called instability in the Middle East is all artificial, man-made, engineered by the United States to grab control of the Middle Eastern oil and to make Middle East safe for a certain state. The ongoing US expansion in Caucasus, Central Asia and American destabilization of Caspian are not motivated by promotion of alternative fuels and hybrid vehicles. Unlike French, German and Japanese manufacturers, US automotive companies had traditionally viewed even fuel economy with contempt. While I agree that the future belongs to hybrid vehicles and automobiles without internal combustion engines, I don’t believe that the US would lead the way. You have to visit United States and spend some time to realize how contemptuous Americans are of their environment and how stupidly wasteful their society is; as of the junta becoming sudden promoter of alternative fuel vehicles, this is not going to happen. Japan and EU may try to lessen their oil dependence through introduction of hybrid and fully electric vehicles (probably first for municipal use) but I don’t believe that petrol (gasoline to our American friends) and diesel engine is about to go extinct. Both China and India are undergoing rapid “automobilizaiton,” and the cars that are sold there will neither be electric nor hybrids in the foreseeable future.

Marina. I suspect that a ghost of some creature named Ross is ever present here. I have nothing to do with that noble spirit though. … and yes, I love France and am passionate about things French.

Best thread EVER! I admit to my Hitler Youth fetish, Hindi tells me to stop idolozing gay-looking creatures, I tell him I don’t know what to do with him, he says “come over here and I’ll show you,” I say “what I’d do with you, or an example of a gay-looking creature?,” I decide I want to join the Lebensborn program... It just keeps getting wilder and wilder! And for that, I should be appointed Moderator of Anything Goes - Just kidding, you don’t have to if you don’t want to.
