Just kidding here too... But well... giving birth was the price to pay for such a pleasant experience! And I'm starting to think it is not such a high price to pay for such an experience as the Lebensborn! This thread just keeps getting sexier and sexier (if by sexy you mean simultaneously intriguing and revolting! )

Hmm. I've never heard of anyone who hates the French *that* much except for Republicans. Funny, you should travel around and see for yourself. I've never heard of one nationality who likes the French. Even the French hate themselves. No. We call them «Gabachos» (usually accompanied by the one adjective which is commonly shared by 'gabacho' and 'moro'). French are the most disliked people here, together with the Moors. But I don't consider Southern French to fit into that category. And that's why the American troops had to do all the job. That comment wasn't directed to you, you can't possibly be a queer. Unless, of course, you are a cyber-transvestite posing as a woman here. ;D

Funny, you should travel around and see for yourself. I've never heard of one nationality who likes the French. Even the French hate themselves. That is not true! Worldwide, the most-hated nationality are Americans (and in America, the Polish are the most hated; even Americans don't hate themselves!) I meant French fries, not the French themselves. But why are the Southern French excluded? (They are closer to being Moors than the Northern French. ) *sigh* You win on this one. Who were you referring to? HINDI?

French are most hated by their neighbours and adjacent nationaties. Those who are not geographically close to France don't know French well enough to hate them, they live happily in their ignorance. Nah, we call them just as you do. Because they are not French (Franks). They are an occupied nation, Occitania. The Moors... yes, Marselha sucks! Read the thread well, follow the links, and see if you can come with a better guess.

This thread is totally surreal. Anything Goes moderation,Nazi's and Lebensborn, French that hate themselves (!),anybody to chat about Roswell 1947? Ok Marina,I like the French (although they can be real pricks sometimes, like Arsene Wenger, oops he is from Alsace),they are respected over here (I wish they 'd be a bit more keen on personal hygene,or is it just a cliche?)
Allons enfants de la patrie! Le jour de gloire est arrivé;<br> On second thought, isn't about time you change your national anthem? Le Marseillaise? Too many immigrants down there...(just joking )

I know it's a joke but just for the record I love the French. I love everything about France, the people, the cities, history, cemeteries, castles, literature, music, forests, the food, cars, everything, France is great. J'aime la France.

Only the French could make a car like the 2cv, strange but beautiful. Right, that sets them apart from the Americans, everything those folks make is strange *and* ugly. Deux chevaux is a very old, pre WWII design - older than VW Käfer (Beetle to English speakers). In the 1930s and 40s 2CV was a far more innovative design than the Käfer/Beetle though. I own one 2CV although I don't drive it that much (I like bigger cars). Amongst postwar classic French auto beautifies I would say Citroen DS (D-S, the Goddess) is probably my favorite vehicle.

Being an American, I don't agree with that statement but I do think that the giant SUVs which many Americans drive are ugly, monstrous and wasteful. I drive a Honda Insight and it gets 70 miles per gallon Its record mileage was 89 miles per gallon on an Arizona highway. Mileage is affected by temperature and road conditions. Here is a picture of my car. The chartreuse color IS ugly but I like it.

I am sorry Murphee:) I forgot Americans are lurking all over:) I know it's better to be more tactful but sometimes I just have to say what I really think... or consider it a slip of tongue. Yes, those SUVs are pathetic. I like your car's funky color though. ;-)

7o miles/ US Galon equals 3.36 liters per 100 kms? Is that a hybrid car? I do find most american cars pathetic, not only SUV´s ;D You need to use more modern engines on them, petrol and diesel. No need to use hybrid engines... yet. Being an American, I don't agree with that statement but I do think that the giant SUVs which many Americans drive are ugly, monstrous and wasteful. Yes, my car is a hybrid. It runs on gasoline and an electric motor serves as augmentation. Its batteries are charged when I apply the brakes or coast. It has an 'auto-stop' feature that I believe should be standard in all cars. When I am stopped at a light, I shift to neutral and the engine stops running. The car is completely quiet and there are no emissions; when the light turns green, the engine smoothly starts as soon as I shift to first gear. I read somewhere that if all American autos had this single feature, then we would only need to import 1/4 of the foreign oil we buy now (I may be wrong on this statistic; my memory is a bit fuzzy. But, I was shocked by the figure). Many people don't know about the mechanics of my car and commonly ask if I need to plug it in to charge the batteries. Sorry, but I don't know metric conversions off-hand. There are quite a few people in my area who drive hybrid Honda Civics and Toyota Priuses. Both these models have a back seat. My very small car is a two-seater.

I know hybrids are available for sale but I haven’t yet met anyone – virtually or otherwise – who owns one. Well, now I have. I am glad you happy with your hybrid. As of shifting to neutral, I guess that’s only a problem with automatic transmission cars, most people who drive vehicles with conventional transmission would shift to neutral when the car is not moving.

We are awaiting the arrival of more hybrid models later in the year. I prefer to drive cars with manual transmissions because they get better gas mileage and they're easier to drive up our steep mountain road.
