It's bad enough hearing stereotypes such as "Jews are cheap" and "They control everything", but it is still annoying to hear "Jews have hooked noses and almost always have dark skin". Well, I did a little research and I have thankfully cleared up these stereotypes.
#1. Jews usually do not have hooked noses!
I will admit that Jews are more likely to have hooked noses than other groups, but it was probably to do mixing with Dinarid and Armenid groups. The Bedouins, which are pure semites tend to have straight or snubbed noses. In other words, the hooked nose trait was acquired from the Arabs, (or maybe even the Alpine! Hooked nose prevelence in some Alpine groups are up to 30%!) 14% of Jews have hooked noses. The majority, 57% have straight noses. Enough said.
#2. Not all of the original Jews were Mediterranean!
This was surprising to me. I figured that all Jews started out short, dark, curly-haired, and low cephallic-indexed. However, descriptions in the Torah (Old Testament of the Bible) show otherwise. Based on the bible, besides the stereotypical dark Mediterranean Arab-Jewish standard, there was evidence of Alpine and even NORDIC-looking Jews in ancient Israel. Red hair was also a common Jewish trait. In fact, some researchers believe that red hair is more common in Jews than any other group in the world.

I don't know about Nordic Jews, you should ask Karl Earlson about that www.nordish.net/~earlson/The hooked nose is an Irano-Afghan trait, it also exists among Armenoids ( thought to be Irano-Afghan/Alpinoid mixes ) and Dinarids. ( if there's any truth to the dinaricization process, then the hooked nose is a result of mixing a straight mediterranean nose with a wide and thick Alpinoid nose ).

You used the word Mediterranean, but you explained it as short, curly haired and low CI. I guess you are stereotyping a group of people yourself. Curly hair! Are you thinking of Europe or Africa? For your information not many people in Southern Europe are Mediterranean and not many people in Northern Europe are Nordic. So saying that some Jews are not Mediterranean, the way you stereotyped it as, goes without saying. The commonest type among the Jews is thought to be Armenoid which is not Mediterranean. There are redheaded people in every Southern European country. It is no big deal. I am sure that there were some light haired and eyed individuals in Judea, but nordic, I don't think so. The bible is a crock. You can't believe everything you read in a book. Otherwise because Noah was an albino, one quarter of the worlds population would be also. Actually redhair is commonest in Scottish people not Jews.

red hair is very much mentioned in the bible, king david had red hair. but yet its most common among celts. there isnt such a thing as semitic features, there are only semitic speaking peoples of different groups. jews aka hebrews belonging northern semitic speaking peoples have armenoid/irano-afghan and different types of med traits in most common. jews, assyrians, lebanese, armenians and native caucasians also arabs without sub saharan admixture share the same near eastern mTDNA and similar in appearance.

Kings David and Solomon NEVER existed. No evidence for their existence has been found in Israel, and many believers have tried hard to find evidence. There are time discrepancies between when these kings existed and the size/nature of Jerusalem. There are lots of myths about the Temple and who built it. Archaeology has yet to find any proof of your kings. So it doesn't matter if he was purple haired or killed some supposed giant or was a descendent of Ruth the Moabite. It is a good story, what better than make him redhaired as well. Armenoid traits are not Mediterranean, but a mongrelised group of traits distinct from classic Mediterranean. Irano-Afghan is a sub type of caucasian and distinct from Mediterranean sub type. The modern Assyrians have nothing to do with the ancient Assyrians who are extinct. The Armenoid look is common in the Levant and Turkey because that is their ancestrial homeland since before the ethnic existence of the Phoenicians or their linguistic brethren the Israelites. Today there isn't any such thing as a semitic look, but in the pre historic times before civilisation there were semitic people who looked semitic. Now due to migrations, conversions, the forced emigration of people that the ancient Assyrians/Persians engaged in, the racial map of the Middle East has been totally altered. Arabic and Arabic culture has been spread far and wide by proselytizers of Islam, so that the racial concept of being an Arab has no meaning. Jews have wandered far and wide and absorbed some local elements.
Before you lot start quoting bibles or religious books back it up with facts from archaeology. Show us the authenicated relics of David son of Jesse and Solomon son of David and Bathsheba. Oh Absalom Oh Absalom, my son with his thick flowing black hair. In the bible it says to get your house in order. Go do that!

well i dont want to go that deep but i think you are pretty wrong about assyrians, the assyrians still present a well preserved racial identity and phenotype.

www.jewishencyclopedia.com/view.jsp?artid=93&letter=HFrom ancient time ,until today ,the meddleastrin (old men) use red “henna” to dyed their gray hairs. if you want i can show you some pictures of meddleastrin old men with red hairs from the henna . red hairs in king David might amply that he is old .It is also possible that he inherited it from the north ,i have seen many people from Syria ,north Iraq and Kurdestan with red hair , i think it is very common in the armonoid type ,and mostly in turkey .

You are making assumptions. Who says the Hebrews and the Jews are the same thing? After all the people spent a lot of time in Egypt, the desert and found others in Canaan. And much later some where carted off to exile never to return, while other people were moved there, for example Samaritans. So the Jews of today are but a tiny remnant of the original mob whether they were Hebrews, Israelites, Habiru or Canaanites.
Herod was not of Jewish stock, but of foreign stock appointed by the Romans. Josephus was a Jewish "Uncle Tom" for the Romans. His writings have to be taken with some grains of salt. I am not wrong about the Assyrians. The modern ones are Aramaic speakers, the ancient ones were speakers of a totally different semitic language. The only thing they have in common is the name Assyrian. The ancients ceased to be a people long before the modern group formed from disparated aramaic speakers of dubious origins.

Herod wasn't exactly 'of foreign stock', in the sense that his roots were from far away. He was half-Edomite, half-Arab. The Edomites were converted into Judaism by John Hyrcanus the Maccabee and eventually were absorbed into the mainstream Jewry. At the time of Herod, they were still 'semi-distinct', so that they weren't exactly Jews, but still Jewish enough to be an acceptable ruler OF Jews - a perfect choice for the Romans.

You are right. The Edomite language was similar to Hebrew and Phoenician. The fact is the Herodian line was not originally Jewish, converts yes, but not descendents of Israel. Edom = Esau and Arab = Hagar's son's descendents.
