Blacks can demand equal treatment. They shouldn't resort to twisting history. Well said, Alex. Twisting history is not going to make blacks equal. It's only going to hurt them by revealing lack of self esteem. Black American history begins with the kingdoms of West Africa.

I think if anyone is african american or african decent on this forum that made some of these comments they must be brain washed by European American society. Any fool know that racism is not dead its everywhere. The only difference now is black people can drink out of the same water fontain wowwwwwwwww big deal. Blacks are still be harrassed beaten and killed by many European americans. Many of them who claim to be for the law. Such as police officers and so on. I can't count the times I've had guns pulled to me and I've been pulled over and I'm a 24 yr old women who has never had a record in her life! So I can't imagine What black men go through. Just shopping going into store such as macy's I've been accused of shop lifting. I'm currently suing for that and I'm stilling fighting it. African Americans need to be more Afrocentric and not so Eurocentric. It seems like must blacks try to be Eurocentric. Look at almost every black women that changes her hair to straight and wont even go out the house without straight hair. Using terms such as nappy and other white slangs about themselves that are racial disgusting. Tell me thats not slave mentality. You can count the African American women on your fingers that wear their real hair. They almost view it as a sin to wear their own features. Yes somebody wake these slave mentality African Americans up and feed them some of their true selfs. And teach them not to be afraid to speak out when European Americans exploit our culture and our people. Blacks need to learn to be proud of themselves all over again. And it has not started yet. 500yrs and still dealing with the same mess it wont change until blacks stand up and start getting alot more Afrocentric. No forget that word. Getting more into there selfs not allowing White America to define them as a people!!! TEXTTEXT ![>:(](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/angry.png) Hey, MissBlackPearl, I'm curious to hear your opinion on this one. To me, as a dark mediterranean woman, it looks obvious that when black woman get narrower noses, straighten their hair, etc. they are trying to look more caucasian. Even I feel pressure that with my dark eyes and thick hair that I am not 'white' enough. You seem to agree with me that it is screwy to feel pressure to use chemicals on one's hair in order to appear decent ![::)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/eyesroll.png) . How come black women won't just admit that it is screwy and start wearing their hair naturally? And why won't they admit it for once...that they are trying to mimic a European look. Except for you and a few others, most black women will go on and on about how there are light eyes and straighter hair in Africa and maybe that is true, but c'mon who are we kidding here. That is horrible what happened to you- good for you for suing. I've heard the same thing from other black women..about being followed around in stores like they were about to steal. And it must be so frustrating that when you seem angry white people say you are angry for no reason because well, there is no racism anymore (like haven't you noticed).

I think people should leave their basic looks alone. There's no need to straighten or dye one's hair or lighten or darken one's skin. You're pretty enough as God created you. There is something to be said for natural beauty.
For instance, I like my hair the way it is... black as night. I'm just as white as any Scandinavian. I don't need a Nordic look to blend in better with my friends. I don't need to resort to tanning to make myself feel like a Mediterranean god either. I'm just what I am.

Its all about what can Wall Street sell to the unexpecting, ignorant public....its always been that way. In the 1920's white women wore specially designed girdles that gave them the appearance of having a round backside like that of African American women. Even the styles now do the same thing...hip huggers my a-- , if you're a white girl wth a flat bottom, you can buy pants that sit so low on your hips that it appears as if you have a rotund behind...... NOT...I can see right through that phony balony Calvin Klienesque crap. Be who you are....Sistas can't wear those jeans because they would bust out of them....naturally. This is not to say that some European women don't have shapely behinds, but lets face it....the few of them are either models, or good ole fashion country girls who got it old fashion way......hard labor.
It all comes down to being proud of who you are, regardless of ethnic background and (excuse the over used hip phrase) KEEP IT REAL!!! The Forces that be made you who you are and what you are for a reason...spend your time developing your true inner self and the outer stuff will morph naturally.
weswill2....just ask him

Nappy hair is ugly and it's normal that they want it to be straight, even mediterranean women straighten their hair, As for Their facial features, they are ugly as well... IMO they are not trying to be more caucasoid looking but more Beautiful. that's logic and obvious.

And no Hanniabel didn't look like Bill Cosby, but he didn't look like Charleton Heston or Brad Pitt either. If you use an angolan to play the role of a black south african it's not that bad, But if you use a chinese to play the role of a south african that's fallacy. It's acceptable to see Brad pitt playing Hannibal, But a black guy playing Hannibal is UNACCEPTABLE.

There are plenty of people who display their natural appearences and still live happy lives and find healthy realtionships. Most of the women in sub-saharan africa aren't perming thier hair, and have no idea that its "ugly" until some outsider comes in and forces their OPINION like its law.

What you say is PC, an ideological view of life, there are races more beautiful than others that's a reality not an opinion. Many people say: that family is better looking than that one, french are better looking than germans, but when it comes to races... brainwashed people assault you before you dare saying a word!! But I didn't say that people should transform their appearance, I'm personally against that, because it is deceiving and does not allow the refining of unwanted genes/individuals.

The propaganda is to oblige the audiance to love Black features, not the other way around. there is no such a propaganda. ive never seen a white man trying to get 'black' looks. the other way, in multi cultural societies, as you well know, takes place very often (see Michael Jackson and all the black who straighten their hair, etc, etc, etc, etc).
