I agree with this statement (in the US at least).
I read an article long ago about Black Americans visiting Africa. Some of them travelled to countries where their ancestors had been taken as slaves. The reporter spoke to some Africans about these Americans. They were glad they were visiting and mentioned noticing that the Black Americans seemed different from them culturally and racially. They probably noticed differences partly because of admixture from Caucasoids and/or Amerindians.

Wesley Snipes--Do you think he has 100% African ancestry? I don't know...

No no no. My mother has a half white half black father and a fully Native American mother, that would make her at least 50% NA and 25 and 25 black and white. Okay. let's get this str8. You said your grandfather had a white mother. That would make your grandfather a mulatto and your mom 25% White + 75% Black from him. That is not the same as being 25% Black. 25% Black is only having 1 Black grandparent. Does she only have 1 Black grandparent, or 2? Or 2 mixed with Black grandparents? You have to count both sides. But my grandmother is fully Native American, so factor that in.

That is my guess also, but those cheekbones in the second picture made me wonder about Amerindian ancestry...but he looks like he has 100% African ancestry most likely.

Ok Mel, my grandfather is a "mulatto" I hate that term and my grandmother is fully Native-American. What does that make my mother?

My guess is that she is Black, I go by the common American definition of Black--noticeable African ancestry. My understanding is that in the modern American view there is no 'mulatto,' such a person is Black.

Of course she is black, no doubt, i just hate the term mulatto because it sounds like something a person would name an animal.

Yep, that term does sound undignified and archaic to my ears.
