Pele on losing his virginity "It was with a homosexual, I was barely 14 years old. But let's be fair, I wasn't the only one who did it. He was a man in Bauru that all our team visited." Damn, i never the that about El Rey Pele.

many foreigners like the usa of the woody allen movies and sitcoms like friends, but hate, well, Texas, lol Texas is more conservative than New York. My friend in New York City is literally afraid to tell people that he's a conservative. LoL.

Dirty South states? Are those states like New Jersey? From my experience, the Dirty South refers largely to the Deep South, i.e. Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Arkansas, eastern Texas, etc. Maybe for some, Tennessee and North Carolina would also be included. Louisiana I guess could be included as well, but the culture is so different with the strong French/Creole influence. I thought that was the case. My roots are in the northern region of the South rather than in what I call Dixie. That's why people like Mike and Tate(?) are better spokesmen for what life in the Deep South is like than I am. My parents came from a place that was closer to the town in which the recent mining tragedy occurred. It was closer, in a cultural way, to the coal mines and steel mills in your home state of Pennsylvania. It was divided during the Civil War, although most of my ancestors fought for the CSA. They didn't "own" slaves. It was deep in the heart of Melungeon territory. Many residents of that region have DNA that matches the Mediterranean countries more than the British Isles. It's a strange thing. I have a ton of stuff about it. Let me know if you'd like to see any of it.

Maybe him being Roman Catholic helped? It's safe to say that he wasn't popular with the Cuban government. I'm sure that Fidel wasn't a fan. ;-)

how is the mexican american war, the spanish american war, the creation of the repulic of texas, all the manifest destiny stuff taught in USA schools nowadays? Educate Me, The history courses I've taken over the years have definitely acknowledged the racism behind all of these events. They certainly weren't exactly our finest moments (esp. the ideology behind Manifest Destiny) and I fully admit this as well. I imagine in certain schools, teachers attempt to downplay the negativity associated with these events, but the courses I've taken were far more objective. That is my experience too. In fact, I think that my teacher last year, who taught most of the things Educate me mentions, went a bit overboard in trying to paint white men, especially historical American white men, as the cancer of humanity. She seemed to have some racial guilt issues, and I think she wasn't balanced, but on the other extreme. That is, that instead of trying to downplay the negativity, she tried to make it seem like the American white men of the 19th century had cloven hooves and horns growing out of their scalps.
