Like fashion, it seems that racial types go in and out of style as well. I've noticed that many female celebrities right now are fairly alpine or east Baltic. Those features just a couple decades ago were not considered pretty. During the early eighties a more Nordic look was considered to be the most beautiful (think Darryl Hannah or Farrah Fawcett). In the seventies, a regular featured thin lipped wasp face seemed to be the preferred look (many of the James Bond leading ladies).
Do you agree/disagree? What do you think the preferred look for the future will be?

In the 1970s almost every White male horny teenager/or in their 20s in America had a Suzanne Sommers or Farah Fawcett poster in their room so the Nordic look was also very "in" in the 1970s as well.

I think that we're going from a multi-ethnic stage to an anything goes stage. Both blondes and mulattas will be in vogue. It'll be all about attractive women of all ethnic backgrounds. Maybe that leads to a bigger question.

^I agree Jack. I think it's getting to the point that beautiful women of all ethnicities are getting the recognition that they deserve, be they Nordic blondes, mulattas, Med women, East Asian women, mestizas, etc. I think society has simply discovered that the world has so much to offer in the range of attractive women. Additionally, people are simply more tolerant nowadays than in previous decades.

^What's so funny about that? It's generally true even though exceptions abound. I think you misunderstood what I was getting at. What I meant was tolerance toward such things as interracial dating/marriage, an altering of standards of beauty, etc. Hell, this kind of thing was illegal not long ago.

We all like tasty dishes.;-)I agree with what you said about tolerance. I think that it's a big factor in the increase of different kinds of women in popular culture. I wonder if that tolerance extends beyond our present ideas of beauty. For example, does it extend to women who are heavier or taller than the ideal?

I heard of some guys who wouldn't date a woman thats over 6 feet tall. Are they shorter or taller guys? That makes a difference. I bet that a lot of 6' women won't date shorter guys as it works both ways. There are a lot of short girls who date only tall guys, for that matter.

my sister is taller than her ex husband
my brother is 6 feet tall and his girlfriend is 6 feet tall too
I am 6 feet tall, but I wouldnt date a woman close to 6 feet or taller because I think it is difficult to manhandle them during sex and are a little intimidating.

The looks get more and more blended: Dyes, collagen, sillicone, bottox, operations, implants, color contacts, perms, straightenings, injections. Is Angelina Jolie a brunette? I just saw her blond on some cover... What is Julia Roberts for that matter? Pamela Anderson, a famous blond barbie doll, is she blond? It's all in the packaging... Elvis was blond, just dyed his hair dark.

I'm tall and I prefer avg guys. I don't really like huge and really tall guys like over 6'4. If he is nice tho I make an exception. I've dated a guy 5'4 once.
