I wondered what was the current reputation of this book? And the opinion of forum members, which may not be quite the same thing. I grew up on it - bit tough for a 10 year old, but there you go.

I was wondering the same thing. Only, I haven't read anything by this author, but I considered buying some of his books ( really cheap price, at a book fair ) Should I buy his books?

I think Robert Graves is a very interesting author. He is not taken seriously by the academic community, however (at least not in the USA). "The Greek Myths" is better than "The White Goddess" as far as method and organized presentation.
Both are fascinating books, and I am glad to own them. They are rich in information and ideas that cannot be found anywhere else.
