I would like to present my condolences to all the Spaniards. This sort of barbaric behaviour has no place in Europe.
I sincerely hope that none of your family and friends was directly or indirectly affected.

Portuguese PM Durão Barroso has declared a day of national mourning. I think everyone is shocked that such a massive attack occured without any prior warning, as has usually occured before ETA bombings in the past. Some say it is a younger and more radical and violent generation of Etarras who carried this out. Some people even say the Arabs may be involved.

I was shocked to hear about this. I only heard about it tonight. Horrible. So many lives.
My condolences to the Spanish people.

It's nice to see that the world has expressed solidarity with the Spaniards at this time. As far as this disgusting act is concerned, I have no comment except that this was totally counterproductive no matter who did it.

I find it hard to believe that 21st century Europeans, who want to call themselves freedom fighters may be responsible for this outrage. If it is them, they should be given up by their own comrades or this will stain the honour of the Basque people for ever. In spite of the insistance of the Spanish authorities, I still believe it was Al-Qaeda. They are the ones who have repeatedly shown complete disregard for any contemporary values. The monsters who did this must be exterminated.

My thoughts are with the victims and I hope whoever did this is caught and swiftly punished.
