www.lagriffedulion.f2s.com/sft.htmAccording to this website, Italians have the highest IQ in Europe at 102. This is based on the work of Professor Richard Lynn of the University of Ulster and a colleague.

It proves that the education system is the basical source for a high IQ... What about the higher IQ of the afro-american from Ohio(USA) compared with the rest of the southern states(even the whites)? Or the Mongol russians not having a higher iq than the caucasian ones? Or big differences between population with populations of the same race?

You either measured the IQ on some weird scale I haven't yet seen, or you were passed-out when you solved the test. You should go test yourself at MENSA.

I don't understand the reasoning here as maybe a Nordacist from Scadi might say, "Of course Finland has the highest I.Q. as they are the most racially pure."
What about the higher IQ of the afro-american from Ohio(USA) compared with the rest of the southern states(even the whites)?
You clearly aren't well-traveled in the U.S. as the whites in Ohio are much whiter than the Sudanese types you see down South where they haven't gotten uppity and started mating with white women.

This is based on the work of Professor Richard Lynn of the University of Ulster and a colleague. "Italians" are not an ethnic group, but a nationality. Even though its common practice on these types of forums to completely disregard all differences between Italian groups, these differences exist, and they are far from subtle. Northern Italians are more closely genetically and culturally allied to neighboring Germanic-speaking Central European populations than they are to, say, Sicilians. I am not denigrating Southern Italians here, but simply pointing out a fact that is all to obvious. A Southern Italian claiming the achievement of Northern Italy is a little like a Ukrainian claiming the achievements of Russia. The fact that Northern and Southern Italians have been living within the confines of a single geo-political entity for a little over a century is irrelevant. Being part of the same country does not erase distinctions between different ethnic groups.

I actually agree with what you wrote here, for the most part. There are differences between Northern Italians and Southern Italians. An Italian from, say, Florence may find he has little in common with an Italian from Sicily. However, I do believe that while there are phenotypic differences between Northern and Southern Italians, these differences tend to be exaggerated by individuals who want to claim the greatness of Northern and Central Italy -- yes, Central Italy as well has been very active in modern times, although some people forget or ignore this (often due to politics). Back to the what you are driving at, there are differences between Sicilians and Florentines and these differences shouldn't be overlooked.
That said, Southern Italy has produced a number of prominent cultural figures -- both in ancient and modern times -- although of course it has tended to be somewhat less progressive than Northern Italy.
As a non-Italian, I lay no claim whatsoever to the high Italian IQ (collectively from all regions), but I still am happy to see the Italians (collectively) doing so well. Whatever the objective differences between Northern and Southern Italians, Northern Italians get their share of insults from bigots too.
Also, most Northern Italians (about 75%) are opposed to separation with the South.
