What? Am I between the Scylla and Charibdes, metaphorically-speaking? Infact you have landed in Trinacrialand, the Sicilian based themepark. Have a cannolo.

What is as a Sicilian your favorite kind of pizza? I mean what do you like to put in it.
And how, the hell, did the name Mafia actually come to exist? Is it initials in reality?
And how many things would you like to change in the world?

And how many things would you like to change in the world? 1. Favorite pizza are: - la pizza margherita - a crispy crust, tomato sauce, mozzarella, basil - sfinciuni - (Sicilian pizza) a thicker crust, tomato sauce, mozzarella, onions, anchiovies, artichokes...every sicilian family has a different recipe for so you'll never have the same! 2. The most common theory is that the Mafia arose because of the unification of Italy. Lords of this "secret" society becan oppressing the pesantry for the Italian state. 3. I have a dream! Well, I'd wish the world was more ecoogically sound and I'd like to do away with corruption.

do you think sicily would be better if the unification had never happened? and the 2 sicilies still existed? Lets go further back in time to the year 1282 during the Sicilian Vespers when we revolted against French rule. We asked the Pope for a kingdom, but since we still had many muslims at the time, the Pope saw Sicily as a heretical state, so he denied us independence so we asked the Kingdom of Aragon for protection. I think Sicily would have turned out ALOT better had the Pope allowed Sicily to remain an independent kingdom. Because we suffered under the Spanish inquisition. It killed the whole Sicilian intellectual class stunting our cultural growth and making us into a country of peasents. But now we're too much intertwined with Italy that quick independence would be a mistake, imo.

So, is it true that M.A.F.I.A. actually means Morte A la Francese, Italia An ela, which, although i dont know Italina and my spelling must be really terrible, Death to the French, Forza Italia! , and is something that the Sicilians came up when under occupation?
Correct?
