Probably the same as happened to other migrating peoples who weren't so very numerous... they were absorbed. It happened to the Visigoths, Ostrogoths, Franks, Varangians, Burgundians, and others.

Germanic Invaders of North Africa didnt last long, they where later beaten and driven out by the Eastern Roman Imperial forces.
North Africa was heavily Romanized(were talking Colonies) for around almost 1000 years, and yet their doesnt seem to be much DNA trade either

History is not apocalyptic ... Invasion doesn't mean massive rapes and melting-pot ( except in colony-towns hence the name ). The success of an invasion depends on the acculturation of the elites.

After Justinian's conquest of the Vandals their king, Gelimer, was taken to Constantinople to grace a triumph. Afterwards he was given lands in Anatolia and made a Roman patrician. Many Vandals were pressed into the Roman army where they were incorporated into the Foederati. As such they were mostly settled, with their families, in the East where they would be useful in defending the Empire against the Persians. The East Romans dismantled the Vandals as a people, though they did it with the minimum of personal cruelty to individuals.
