Well, it's a "Keltic-Nordic" variety for one, which as far as I know it supposed to be a concrete or not mixture of mostly Nordid, but also Dinaroid and maybe Mediterranid. I guess Aran Islanders are just the best examples, but then again SNPA mentions this Origin: An altered Keltic Nordic, largely the product of isolation and inbreeding, of racial dimensions for which no continental prototype can been found. Description:
The Aran Nordic population is taller, longer-legged, leaner, and lighter in weight than most other Irish groups.
The type is characterized by a great head length and an exceptionally low head height, a very long face and nose, and an excess of blue eyes and golden and red hair. The low-headedness seems to be borne by the least blond element in the Aran population. The breadth-length index is mesocephalic (77.8) and the length-height index orthocephalic (60.7).
The temporal planes converge, and the vault is cylindrical when seen in the front view. This feature, in less exaggerated form, is a cranial diagnostic of the Keltic Iron Age type in general. and I've seen differing measurements for Keltic-Nordics and Arans. Coon had the Island as the most different Irish as a population--reflecting more morphological difference between itself and the rest of the Island than between the exaggerrated East-West divide.

The regional differences are not great, with a single exception, that of the Aran Isles. The hypermarginal, culturally conservative Gaelic speakers of these islands seem to have formed, in isolation and by interbreeding, a distinct local racial entity. They are the tallest Irish group, with a mean stature of 174.5 cm.; they are longer legged, leaner, and lighter in weight than most of the others; their head length mean reaches the excessive dimension of 198.3 mm., while their head height, 120.3 mm., is extremely low. Thus they have the relatively low cephalic index of 77.8, and the orthocephalic length-height index of 60.7. Their total face height reaches the extreme mean of 130 mm., their nose height of 57. It is impossible, at present at least, to discover a continental prototype for the Aran Island racial dimensions. For the moment we must consider it a local development of race-forming proportions.
