I was wondering if you guys think isolate groups who had less contact with other groups preserve the original appearance the best. For example,
1. Nuristani: rather isolate Indo-Iranian speaking group who look totally European and more European than all other Indo-Iranian speakers (although the Pathan and Kalasha also look very European overall). They have light skin and light eyes. Also, they speak an independent branch of I-I. Perhaps they look like the original I-I speakers. The Iranians probably mixed more with the Elamites and the Indians with whatever the local population was.
Also, are there any opinions of the original appearance of the Indo-Europeans? I think they were Dinaric looking, dark hair and light eyed since they probably originated around the Caucasus. The Dinaric belt spreads pretty far, Balkans, Caucasus, parts of Iran and Afghanistan (maybe the Tocharians?). Germanics absorbed much Uralic speaking peoples, Armenians absorbed much Hurrian speaking peoples, and Italic and Greek whatever Mediterranean people who were already there.
2. Guanche: Blond and blue eyed, like many other Berbers, but blue eyes and blond hair was predominate among them.
