Post pictures of people you think best represent the average person in various different European countries (not models, just regular people who have that 'look' specific to each nation).

Its a very hard question since every country has so much diversity, but I think these guys look average for the country I live in (Netherlands) : Interesting! The image I have in my head of the prototypical Dutch (from travel book pictures mainly, I have never been to your counrty) is much blonder than the people you posted. 45-50, a bit overweight in a robust sort of way, medium height, wearing a sweater, thinning blond hair, ruddy skin, a somewhat round head, and doing something rural like buying cows at an auction or tending a garden. Actually a bit like the older guy posted but with a much larger head.

Post pictures of people you think best represent the average person in various different European countries (not models, just regular people who have that 'look' specific to each nation). I think that's difficult especially for larger countries like Germany and the UK and France and also Russia. It's hard to produce a picture of a (stereo)typical Finn, because I would say there are several types of Finns, but Germany or Russia - it's almost a hopeless task.

How could Abelard tell the older man had blond hair. He looks quite bald and the bits of hair are grey!
executiona9, is that you and your old man? You said you had dark hair. You were not kidding.
Actually I think this thread is silly. There are a wide variety of types in every country and I am not including immigrants or their children. I have known a few Dutch people with ashy hair and a tanned yellow brown complexion all year round. Most Swedes have brown hair, but I am sure everyone wants to see a blond stereotypic Swede.

blond, medium height and a somewhat round head? Sounds like you are describing the opposite of what dutch people are ;D
most dutch people have brown hair, dutch people are not of medium height, dutch people are extreme tall, actually we are the tallest people in the world. Dutch have relatively long heads compared to other Europeans. Germans and French people for example have a much higher cephalic index than the Dutch on average. In the races of Europe there is one study that sais the CI for Holland is 80,3 and another study that sais the CI for Holland is 79. So lets say Holland is between 79-80 CI. This is mesocephalic.
no thats not me

Horrid skin colour - yellow brown. The hair does not look natural, but otherwise attractive.

It's the picture quality that is horrid. I don't know where you see any brown in that yellow.

Both of those pretty women appear to have dyed hair. I think that the natural hair color of the woman on the left is close to that of her eyebrows.

Sorry that these are only in black and white, but these three people are all natural blondes. The first is an American with Polish ancestry. The following two are Americans with German ancestry. www.geocities.com/sunlizard2/har.txt[/img] Sometimes, it is hard to tell, but the tell-tale sign of a natural blonde is the natural look. The brows and the general look of the face go correctly with the hair. There is almost always an "off look" to the appearance of a bottle blonde.
