I found a good article on the Kabyle Berbers of Northern Africa (in .pdf format). The writer, who works for the BBC, notes that pan-Arabism has worked against the interests of the Berbers in Algeria by proscribing the use of their language in public and government institutions.

Well, the article is quite interesting but not too much new in it for me. I woud be really interested to know how many of today Algerians might be biologically descendents of Arabs or other groups and Berbers. Because I'm sure that many groups and individuals were assimilated.
