Here are two relatively recent studies on both the mitochondrial and Y-chromosome markers of the peoples of the Caucasus region. The tested groups include: Abazinians Armenians Azerbaijanians Chechenians Darginians Georgians Ingushians Kabardinians Kazbegi Lezginians Ossetians Svans The mtDNAstudy: www.familytreedna.com/pdf/mtDNApaper.pdfThe Y-DNA study: www.familytreedna.com/pdf/Nasidze_2003.pdfBoth studies compare and contrast each group with others and then all of them to European and Near Eastern groups. It also includes the relation between genetics and linguistics of the area, apparently finding the linguistic barriers rather superficial as the Azerbaijanis show more similarities with the Armenians rather than the Turkic groups they share their language with.

Heh, that's what I thought about Azeri without using scientific methods I'm assuming they're also very much connected to the Iranians of the area. In some places you can't really tell where Azerbaijani land ends and the Iranian land starts. Still, AWAR, your purely secret assumptions are no help to science unless you share them with us first. ;D

Heh, that's what I thought about Azeri without using scientific methods They should have used an Albanian sample for this as well. I'm sure that a good portion of the Albanian population falls under the Caucasian group, whether these scientists (or most common people) are willing to admit it or not. Most Albanians (especially northern Albanians/Kosovars) are more akin to the Azeri and Persians than they are to other neighboring Europeans.

I'm sure you can do without such stupid insults. -AWAR What about the montenegrins and the serbs that have the same racial features and that fall under the same racial classification as the "Northern Albanians/Kosovars"? Do you know what the dinaric race is? And do you know that much of what was Illyria still has a dinaric domination to this day, no matter if you're in Croatia, Bosnia, Serbia or Albania! Again, your ignorance sickens me!
