Cephalic index(CI)can be measured by using photographs. Most important things are frontal, and side wiew of the head. Both frontal and side photos must be made from SAME distance of camera and model. Mesuring must be very precise, becouse every milimeter is important. Best way to make photos is by using fixed camera.
The fact that photos are smaller then original is not important, becouse proportial corellations between lenght and widht are SAME.
To make most realistic measure, important thing is that model have a short hair.
Mesuring by photos is far better then using do-it-yourself 'instruments'. I still didnt make my measurments via photos, but i have intention to do that. Using my 'contraption'i have noticed the problems in measuring head lenght. Head widht is same-160mm. But lenght had variations from 200mm to 215 mm. I think that my lenght is around 210 mm,but im not really sure.
Actually,i now think that my CI is 76(mesocephalic-dolichoid),not 74,5(dolichocephalic)... But still,im not really sure...
As i already said,in cephalic measurments every milimeter is important...

Maybe making a photo of yourself beside an already measured object.
