What would you say of these people? How would you classify them sub-racially (if at all possible from just one photo) or from which ethnicity/nationality would you guess them to be? Photo taken back in 191?. I'm mostly interested in how you will classify the guy on the left. The one standing in the middle is a French officer, so you might as well skip him. The two men sitting are relatives. public.fotki.com/cheja/new/ctnr1.html

Obviously Turks...It's hard to classify from such an old pic..but they do look like average Turks to me..or maybe it's just the moustache again

The French officer is Alpine and that is the reason he looks like the one Dean posted (I think). The other two look more like Meds to me. I would have guessed them southern Italians probably.

I forgot to mention one thing: when you're viewing the photos don't forget to click the "Get Original Uploaded Photo" link right undernearth them, please. That way, you'll get the larger version. The webpage fits them on the page when you first view them.
The photo is not actually that small.

They look like some type of Mediterraneans. The guy on the left looks like a cross between the French guy and the guy on the right, who looks like an Anatolian Turk, although he could be French-Algerian.

The guy on the left is my great-grandfather. The other guy, on the right is a relative of his if I remember correctly (a cousin or something, though I'm not exactly sure) The standing guy is a French officer (who interestingly looks like the soldier whose photo you have posted Dean). It's from the WWI, so I don't exactly know what they're doing with a French officer, assuming they had immigrated to Turkey from Bulgaria at the time. That also gives away the background of the guy in question, he was born in Bulgaria and was ethnically Bulgarian for all I know.

Bulgaria is like 60% pontid if that's not a misinformation. He is the father of this man: public.fotki.com/cheja/family/ns_1.html(My paternal grandfather, who was classified as a Dinaricized Mediterennean)
