A whole thread on Christianity...and I almost missed it.

We are the church, the believers that is. If you believe the bible is the word of God, that Jesus was born of a virgin, that you were born of sin and destined for eternity in hell, that Jesus died on a cross to atone your sins and was resurrected on the third day, then you are a child of God and you are the church. The first believers were not even Christian, but Jewish.

Most people have moved on, but I thought I'd just put my two cents in here.

Christianity = Eastern Orthodoxy (in its various branches) and pre-Vatican II Catholicism.

American Protestantism = horseshit and Southern Baptists and Evangelicals are the worst of the worst. Tim LaHaye, Hal Lindsey, Pat Robertson, Jerry Falwell, etc. all are going straight to hell along with their entire flock.

The more I read the Bible and observe the practices of Catholics, it is apparent to me that a significant amount of what they practice is non-scriptural. There is very little continuity between Catholicism and the teachings of the early church as written in the Bible. For example, purgatory, where is that found in the Bible? Praying to saints and even assigning 'patron' saints, where is it found in the Bible?

Christianity, whether it be catholic, protestant, orthodox, or some obscure sect like gnosticism all have one thing in common, being completely insane. There seems to be a common trait among all which include extreme hypocrisy and promoting disconnetiion from reality. If you notice as you read the "guidelines" it's almost impossible not to be partial to absolutely everything which christianity attacks, for the simple reason that everything that christianity is against has merit, and is only attacked because early christians themselves were the absolute bottom of the barrel of society, the rabble that had a fervent hate for everyone that weren't wretched failures such as themselves. These were the people that created it! It's hard to believe anyone would have any respect for the values dictated by such a lowly disdainful group of people, and at the same time disregard the actuall productive people as being " evil crazy pagans" when in fact they were anything but, they were the progressive and creative people and they and what they valued should be looked at and considered carefully rather than just dismiss it with an unthinking hatred becuase of some pathetic people that lived 2 millenia ago. These evil pagans were the ones building vast empires, contributing to human civilization, and why? because they were evil and had bad values? They valued positive things like strength and health and knowledge, as seen by say Apollo, zeus, jupiter etc who though "gods" also exibited human weaknesses so as to not emphasize negative emotions like guilt and resentment whereas christianity is based on empasizing such feelings.

Christianity has proven only to destroy and arrest positive development in human civilization. Like rome for instance, being so weakend to the point that primitive barbarians from the north could invade it, becuase of the absence of "roman civic duty" which comes in consequence of the weird sort of nihlism that christianity inculcates in it's follower. By positioning myth above reality "immortal soul" as the center of your entire existence you essentially denegrade reality to some kind of a transitional purgatory, creating indifference with no focus or sense of direction, just "practical nihlism".

USA has the worst society in the world, cause their religion is racism


Puerto Rico has so many different type of people, but we don't see that


all we see is that we're Puerto Ricans who share the same faith, we're family together.

Religion unifies all types of people.

Look at Muslims, you have Arabs and Somalians seeing each other as close.
