He does not seem to realize that, for all intents and purpose, the number of people who have any sort of 'phenotype awarness' is nonexistent. For example, a Nordic German with any national consciousness will identify more with an Alpine German than he would with a Nordic Russian. This is simply a fact of human nations. Phenotypes within any are simply far too diverse for people to identify with phenotype alone. Blonds and brunettes can both be found in a random Central European family; will a blond with brunette siblings feel closer to them or to strangers who share his phenotype? McCullochism illustrates very well the insanity that results when any ideology or idea (in this case, racial materialism) is taken to its extreme. In his quest to preserve the "Nordish race" McCulloch completely disregards thousands of years of divergent culture, genetics, and history. To show how arbitrary "Nordishness" is, the Nordicists were silent when I pointed out McCulloch's attraction (fixation?) to the Alicia Silverstones of this world. They talk a lot about genotypes, but when it comes down to it it's phenotype that most matters to them, and it's phenotype (i.e., blondeness) that they fetishize. Why else would the "Godfather of Nordicism" claim the Hollywood Jewess Alicia Silverstone? Stribog -- an individual I certainly don't agree with on some things -- got me thinking on the overlap between Iberians and those in the British Isles which is ignored. It seems some of the Nordicists with British ancestry are afraid to face the demons of their Mediterranean ancestry. Thus when these Atlantids and part-Atlantids bash Meds they are really exhibiting a form of self-hate, largely due to their fetishizing of the abstract concept of "Nordish." McCulloch would have you think the latter... McCulloch is stuck trying to preserve something worth preserving but doing a lot to undermine what he really wants (I think). I am for the preservation of the various European groups -- which must take into account both phenotype and genotype -- but by allowing those with alien genotypes to become a part of the "Nordish" race, McCulloch is proving that when it comes down to it Nordicism is merely the fetishizing of a certain look, since it has nothing to do with preservation in a truly biological sense. McCulloch is making the error of mistaking correlation with "substance." People of similar genotypes and nationalities -- sharing genetic and historical bonds -- will often look like one another, but sometimes they do not. Conversely, people genetically distanced may look more like one another than with those genetically and historically closer to them. By focusing only on phenotype -- which can potentially bring in all kinds of alien genes into a "Nordish" state -- McCulloch is really missing the target. The way to preserve the subraces of Europe is to preserve the nations, and to allow the heterogeneity within the nations to continue as it has done for millennia. |
