In the next few days, the forum will be upgraded to the ProBoards v.4 software. During that time, the forum will be offline, and an upgrade notice will be seen instead. Afterwards, things should work fine, but the next time you log in, you will be asked to enter your birthdate to comply with US law, and you will then be sent an activation e-mail. Also, user names will stop being case-sensitive, so let's say Bob and bob will both be the same. If two users have the same user name, then the system will add a number to the end of additional users with the same user name.

Interesting. How will they know if you birthdate is real, especially those folk not in the USA? Or doesn't it really matter?

My opinion is that this is based on the Honor System. But mine is not an official answer about it.
Mostly, I think this has to do with Terms of Use applicable to all forums, particularly where minors under certain age have to submit permission from their parents, as the administrators and/or moderators can not be held liable for potentially objectionable contents.

Will all the stuff on the forum now be saved and present in the new forum?

Will all the stuff on the forum now be saved and present in the new forum? We have to wait clarification from Dienekes regarding this, because as he pointed out here: dodona.proboards35.com/index.cgi?board=rules&action=display&thread=1112234840he was saying that the current board will stay as it is but he won't have anything to do with it. In either case, if there's anything that you wish to save you should go ahead and do it.
