There's a lot of racist abuse of black footballers in Italy. The crowds often make monkey noises when they've got the ball at some clubs. Yeah or how those British Football Hooligans?

I have no problem with immigration into England based on race, i'd prefer people to act like we do in this country and integrate with the country whatever race they are. I do however have a problem with immigration when immigrants take over areas and impose their values here, there's quite a few muslim ghettos here now.

Yeah what's your point. it's largely been stamped out now. we have very little trouble here now and it's much worse in other countries.

My point was completely relevant to the thread because someone was saying Italians don't recognise the concept of race. You bringing up British hooligans is completely irrelevant and has nothing to do with anything on this thread.

There's a lot of racist abuse of black footballers in Italy. The crowds often make monkey noises when they've got the ball at some clubs. I happened to be in Italy during the World Cup in 1990. I can assure you that everybody was cheering for Camerun. There are some, minor sections of football audience who are openly racist. I know only of a two incidents in which some of the fans didn't want a black player in their team. Usually, however, racist allusions are used as an added insult. They are directed to players of the opposing side, or sometimes to an own player not "giving it all". Same people who are chanting racists choruses towards the black player of opposing side are cheering for the black players in their team.

Yeah I saw a real Madrid game when half the stadium were doing monkey type noises when black players on the opposing team had the ball but they didn't do it when their own black players. Seems they are racist but not when it comes to their own team. Lazio are a club which are seen as fascist i'm not sure if they've had any black players.

Would this Italian ever be considered white? This guy simply looks like a slightly darker version of Joe Pesci.

Would this Italian ever be considered white? lol. This guy is not Italian. It's Russel Peters, an Indo-Canadian comedian based out of Brampton, Ontario...close to Toronto. The jpeg even says "russell17kx.jpg". But I do know this Sri Lankan guy who says that many northern Indians can look like Italians or that some Anglo-Indian mixes look "southern Italian".
