No one said it is an islam vs christianity issue, hindus, jews, secular european liberals, and communist atheists seem to have the same problems.I hope you noticed this is not my claim either. The West no more coincides with Christendom or represents Christianity, as i already wrote. The opposite is misleadingly claimed by the extremist muslims, as they seek to present it this way to the muslim public in order to increase their influence and finally push things to the extreme, to some kind of total conflict. It`s actually the secular core of the West, the global expansion of western ideas and concepts that they feel being threatened of, imo. But we should also bear in mind that conservative elements all over the christian world, who don`t look positively at the last centuries evolution of the "West" towards secularism and still don`t want to distinguish between the "West" and Christendom, might too perceive the situation as an Islam vs Christianity conflict.
My reference to Christendom was just to remind you that everyone has bloody borders.
As for Hindus and Jews, i mentioned too that international political conflicts with autonomy - independence demands expressed by various muslim peoples (in middle east, Caucasus, Indonesia etc.) supply too the tank of islamic terrorism. But due to the mainly political nature of these movements, the part of islamic terrorism they are accountable for can be prevented to some great extent. Besides, history shows that struggles of this kind, no matter how violent and bloody, can be acceptable afterwards and the demands expressed can be satisfied partially or wholly, the label "terrorists" being removed...
