Not really, Texas climate is very brutal and very hot. I can't tan some parts of my body, but I could adapt to anything, with enough sunblock that is. ;D

I love the summer and the heat, and a hate the winter and the cold, the greyness. I live in Hungary.

Not really, since I can't stand the cold. I especially suffer cold and humid or cold and windy weather. Temperatures below - 10 degrees C are unbareable to me even without any wind or humidity.
Heat on the other hand isn't such a big problem for me, just as long as I don't have to work in an office where humidity is near 90 % and the temperature near 32 degrees C. When I was living in Italy - and I lived there through 2 hottest summers in the last 100 years - I really seemed to bare the heat better than many natives did.

I made a post above about what kind of weather I´m confortable with. Now let´s see how it relates to my racial background... The centre of the Iberian Peninsula has a sub-continental climate: very hot in the summer, and quite cold in the winter. It makes sense that I can manage both hot and cold temperatures. I can tan easily, so the sun is no problem, except in places near the equator, where I burn. I prefer dry and hot to wet and hot, obviously. My preference for moderately cold and wet weather comes from my Galician ancestors!

Considering that climates today differ significantly from climates in the same areas a few thousand years ago, do you think it's seriously plausible that origins have any effect on climatic preferences?

At 4 generations per century, you get 120 generations in 3000 years. That´s enough time for natural selection to operate.

I have both northern and southern European blood. I hate both heat and cold. I like cloudy, brisk weather. I also like rain. Anything that isn't too cold, too sunny, or too hot is good for me. Autumn is my favorite season. You've just described me to a T! LOL ![:o](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/shocked.png) ;D I'm exactly the same way! I love mild temps, preferably in the low-mid 60's. I also love the rain. ![8-)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/cool.png) I love it when it's overcast...people here in Southern California think I'm crazy. LOL ![:P](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/tongue.png) Autumn is also my favorite season and I'm both Southern and Northern European. ;D

But... I dunno. Where I live, we have continental climate. But I feel I could live very well in a more hot climate. Like, mediterranian or tropical climate... I hate the winters. But I think that's just my personal preference, it has nothing to do with ancestry.

My body tends to radiate heat. I also tend to sweat quite a bit. I'm most comfortable in moderate weather. I also enjoy the air and "feel" of high altitudes.
I've noticed that Northern Europeans (that is, from N Russia, Baltic, Scandinavia --- I consider most of Germany to be Central Europe) often sweat little and retain more heat than most people. Japanese and Koreans tend to be similar.

I have weird body temperature. I can feel very comfortable in shorts in winter time and in a steam room for much time. Its like I can adapt to both climates but it really depends on my mood.

What are these vagaries about "jewish oily skin" ? Why not pointed ears, vertical-slit pupils and forked tongues, to make good measure ? This being said, the original question of this thread is interesting. Like most Frenchmen, I am mostly Latin-Keltic with a less important Northern European admixture. I was born, live and work in a coastal town in the South-East of France, where the temperatures are rather high, and every Summer, I spend my holidays in a cooler region. I have a short, compact and muscular build, typical of cold-adapted races. I enjoy all the seasons but Summer. My kinsmen, friends and co-workers always look at me with saucer-like wide eyes, when they see me arriving with a short-sleeved shirt and holding my jacket while they fend off what they call a cold Winter with their thick clothes, and they don't understand my eternal cursing against the excessive heating of buildings and malls. One last thing : Curse the Fahrenheit degrees ! Long live the Celsius ! Convert to the Metric faith ! ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png)
