Springa because most Latin American countries have a NonWhite majority which is why most people in the mainstream don't consider Latin America as part of Western society. True

Yeah Western civilization ends once you leave San Diego and enter Tiajuana. ;D

It has nothing to do with race. The core of Latin America culture, and its institutions, are an extension of Hispanic culture and therefore Western.

Your average North American or European would consider Japan a Western country before he or she would ever consider Latin American countries to be part of Western civilization.

That's because Americans make the mistake you did--Tiajuana is not like all the rest of Mexico or Latin America. It's a trashier second Sin City for quick American tourists, and it's they who fund that hellhole.

Your average North American or European would consider Japan a Western country before he or she would ever consider Latin American countries to be part of Western civilization. Western does not mean "developed", nor is a sort of title to be awarded to "good" countries. Western means of European culture and ethnicity. No one in is mind would call Japan a western country or consider it more western than Latin America. Latin America belongs to the western world as its dominant values and culture are those of the European conquerors. For now. It's borderline however because the non European ethnicities and their cultural heritage has a massive and important presence.

When most think Latin American, they think Coffee,Tobacco,Cocaine,Marijuana,Drug Cartels,Banana Republics and Guerrilla's attacks & Junta's everyother day. The only Countries that are truly Western is Argentina (its like Europe, but in South America)..
Cuba pretty Western was at one point, but that was pre-Castro.

Wasnt implying anything persay...just relating an observation as most of those countries are backwards and underdeveloped ect on many levels compared to the modernized and far more stable Argentina.

You're aware of how unstable Argentina's economy has been, right?

it has grown 9% per year for the past 3 years, (the crisis was in 2001) and will probably grow at least 7% this year, most likely 9% again
but it is true that argentine economy is generally unstable, we usually have 5 years of growth followed by some big crisis

Also, "persay" is not actually a word. It's a Latin phrase.
"Per se".

Did you mean that it's American tourists (gringos) who consider it as a trashy city, or do you mean that in general?? If it's the latter, then I take offense to your comment, seeing as I lived a good portion of my life in that city.

Yes, that's the common misspelling since that's how it's pronounced in English. *Only* 100,000 results on Google did it bring up. You corrected me on my mispelling of "la Raza" too. I speak it, but I've never written the language.
It's tawdry and trashy as a general fact, yes. What I was getting at is Americans unfortunately judge all of Mexico on this horrible example. I mean, isn't that where they capped Colosio too?
What does it matter if you lived in it? That doesn't make tranny-whores go away.
In all seriousness, I'm moving there in a few months, or at least San Diego. Other than help out the countless orphans, what is there to do there?--since you know it well.

Have you been to this city at all, just wondering? Tijuana isin't pronounced as "Tiajuana" in English. Just because billions of people pronounce it incorrectly doesn't make it correct. Ah who cares, I know you don't. Really? Going to help orphans?? How exactly, I'm curious now. What do you like to do? If you like "tawdry and trashy", you can check out Adelitas. Top notch entertainment right there. No tranny whores there, that's for sure.
