With 8-9 million Blacks unofficially believed to have HIV out of a population of 45 million in S.Africa, is it foreseeable that the South African Version of Nostradamus ( Nicolaas van Rensburg) was right when he predicted the Whites would return to power? www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=27588

Currently, Whites are socially, economically and culturally superior to their fellow citizens... and the expected policy of the new government is to improve the situation of blacks, but the goverment does the contrary: they lower the situation of the whites so that whites and blacks live equal. Within 20 years South africa is going to be like somal.

Is there anyone here from South Africa that can give us an unbiased view of what life is really like in S.Africa today? Are the whites regreting giving up power ? Are the Blacks just blaming the whites?
What my main point with this thread was... if AIDs continues unabatted, will the whites become numerous enuf to take the reigns of power again? S.African Blacks can't afford the drugs to keep them alive once infected... and Mbeki's government continues to tell his people that there is no connection with AIDS and HIV.

Are the Blacks just blaming the whites? Many are regreting having had a united country with blacks, and blacks are blaming the whites for their situation (although a black south african lives bettter than any other subsaharan african!!!). if AIDs continues unabatted, whites will be infected too, and a white will be as unable to pay drugs as a black the goverment wants an economical equality between all races, through affirmative action this will be achieved within 10 or 20 years, therefore whites are going to be as poor as blacks.

I get the impression that the whites are educated on how the virus actually spreads, and are less vulnerable to the epidemic currently occuring in S.Africa. Also,I've read articles of Blacks not knowing that unprotected sex can spread HIV... and even that having sex with a baby or virgin can cure them of their disease. www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=25806

Interesting. Where did you find these numbers? I was googling and couldn't find the racial breakdown statistics. According to this article, 2% of whites in SA have HIV. www.aegis.com/news/suntimes/2000/ST000714.html

I was grown up in South Africa.I left South Africa before Mandela came to power. All i will say is that one day S.A. will become a third world country ( my opinion ) from the highly industrylised power she once was.

Month ago S.A. visited my friend with choir. She told me that white people there now live in ghettos which look like prisons. In some of them stayed also choir. Apartments looked like prison cells. They were going by bus which had dark windows and doors were locked with strong keys. It was because in that choir all singers were from Latvia (in other words- all were white) and they needed protection and safety. My friend said that she felt there very strange and first time was scared about her live. She said that those were the craziest 2 weeks in her life. Another interesting thing she told that blacks don't care about things which could make their life better. For example, blacks don't repaire houses, nor care about making environment more beautiful etc. Seems the reason that S.A. can't stay highly developed country is, that blacks have different attitude towards life.

Ok, Becuase Ive been to alot of different parts of S.Africa I know the big differences between the areas and cities. Johannesburg is a Dangerous city andhas poverty. However the standard of living in S.Africa is much higher than the rest. Cape town is one of the nicest cities I've been too, and it's perfectly safe, same with Port Elizabeth. There are some places that you just dont go but that is nothing to worry about. You make it seem like all the house and apartments in S.Africa are shanties and ghettos? They have really nice houses there, it all depends where you go!

What's the news here? ...It sucks to be Black in South Africa.
The country will continue to have brain-drain.
The result of the end of apartheid, is the peaceful migration of successful Black South Africans out of the country.
Good for the rest of the world. ...Bad for South Africa.
