Gabber music is called "hardcore" because it was originally called "hardcore techno". But about 10 years before it, there was already another kind of music that was called hardcore too. To be more precise, hardcore punk. I bet most people here hates it, but I'm really into it. It's basically punk rock, but faster, angrier and noisier. By the way, Holland has always been a great place for hardcore punk also, with bands like Lärm, Pandemonium, BGK, etc...

I live in Holland, and these people call eachothers Gabbers which comes from the Jewish 'chawer'which means 'friend'. They great eachother with 'mazzel' which is also Jewish and means something like 'good luck' ...not that most gabbers are racists young frustrated kids that once got beaten up by a bunch of Moroccans or gor robbed by a black ... ;D bunch of losers if you ask me..
