How to know if your Off Black or not, if you have never in your entire life been confused for being African American, Jamaican, Somalian, Ethiopian, Nigerian, Sudanese, South African, Dominican. etc, then you are off black.

African Americans, Jamaicans, Ethiopians, etc, aren't pure, over-pigmented and jet black, so they're obviously off-black too.

Wouldn´t Somalis be off-Black under this definition, or would they be just a tad exotic in their elongation, with Ethiopians being the real off-Blacks? ;D

No...only a pure maxxed out, coal black congoid is black...that means 0,00001% of the world population, the same percentage of really white, pure as the driven snow, border line albino people...listen to tonynatuzi...that man knows his stuff!
And now being serious, isn't the man in Planet Asia's signature an example of someone who is off black?

African Americans, Jamaicans, Ethiopians, etc, aren't pure, over-pigmented and jet black, so they're obviously off-black too. Jamaicans are actually some of the darkest people in the African diaspora.Haitians too. So no,they aren't "off-black". I agree about African-Americans.A lot show visible white and Native ancestry.Same with Dominicans. But not "off-black" also. And now being serious, isn't the man in Planet Asia's signature an example of someone who is off black? How? You are the second person to say that. Where do you live,Europe? You must not know anything about Black American diversity. Maybe here,he's "off-black".But not in the real world. All blacks don't have the 'classic negro' features.Even in West Africa. Yeah,he's not a black man because he doesn't have fat lips and thick nostrils. Black is a social label anyway.Negroid is totally different becuase to be that HERE,you have to look like Idi Amin or Wesley Snipes as Charlie said not long ago. If that man isn't black to YOU.Then I guess some people in my family are just "pretending" to be black,eh?

First...I don't believe in the off-black category... Second, I am well aware of the diversity of the african-americans...but it is not my fault that in the USA you just need to have a tiny amout of black blood to be black. That man looks pratically a mulato, you cannot deny it... But since being black has a social conotation too in the USA, if that man wants to consider himself black that's his prerogative...´ But don't fool yourself...in Africa we would only fit in North Africa, the Sahara and the Horn of Africa...yes, that doesn't many him unafrican, unblack, I am not so sure...this is not a black or white world...one can simply be mixed... I have a half brother with black ancestors, something given away by his nose, his great tanning ability and his curly hair (I know that the last two don't necessarily mean black ancestry) and I don't think of him as white..I guess in the USA he would be black...but frankly, I don't care...I think it is retarded for one to be indentified by his race... My brother is Portuguese, and that's all...Gil-Scott-Heron was an American man who fought for the rights of americans, and that's all, no need to say he was black, to think of him as black...does that changes anything about the person he was? Of course not...

How to know if your Off Black or not, if you have never in your entire life been confused for being African American, Jamaican, Somalian, Ethiopian, Nigerian, Sudanese, South African, Dominican. etc, then you are off black. Depends on society. If you're in the US and are confused for being any of the above ethnicities, then chances are you are 100% Black, unless you are East Indian or Hispanic. i.e. anyone that doesnt look 75%+ White/Asian, and looks less than 25% Spanish/Portuguese influenced. Since Black is anyone that looks like the African-American ethnicity.
But if you're in Europe and are commonly confused for being the New World Black ethnicities+Somali+Ethiopian+South African (when not Somali or Ethiopian), then you are likely off-black. i.e. anyone that doesnt look predominantly West African. Since Black is anyone that clearly looks more like a Black African, than any other race.

Commom man, it was a joke...I don't know how you didn't understand it... And about Gil-Scott-Heron I have allready said what I thought, and I don't really believe that you don't agree, at least partly, with what I said..
If anyone is senseless here, it appears do be you...

I am off-black! LOL This is a funny thread. I have been assumed to be Mulatto, Quadroon and just recently I was assumed to be Ethiopian or Eritrean. I have a friend who has a French-Mulatto mother and Egyptian father and we look a lot alike.
