Maybe in his case, but I posted earlier that I knew a family from Ireland and all the boys had "Fro's". How do you explain that ? The old man was straight from the Old Sod and his boys were first generation. Wavy hair in general is more observable there than the rest of Western Europe.

I think a good many Spaniards can pass for Irishmen, though still, the Irish themselves also vary rather widely in appearance. On one hand we have Conan O'Brien or Dennis Leary whereas on the other we have Colin Farrell or George Clooney. In all European countries there will be overlap in appearance, this is also true to a much lesser extent with European and Middle Eastern Caucasoids. However, since many Irishmen share the same "Atlantic UP" genes with Iberians, the so-called Atlantid type is fairly common among Spaniards, so many lighter-pigmented Spaniards could easily be confused with typical Brits/Irishmen. Likewise, the Colin Farrell Irish types could easily pass for typical (note TYPICAL) Spaniards. IMO, matters concerning what percentage of such group can "pass" for members of another group are often quite subjective.

Does anybody here think Irish American UFC fighter also known as "The World's Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock can pass for a Spaniard I mean he's a "Black Irish" type right.

An Irish poster here, pconroy (who was excellent, BTW), used to say that Americans had a weird notion of who could pass for Irish, meaning that for a real Irishman very few non-Irish can pass. He said the typical Irish-american is 1/4 at best, and looks marginally Irish. "Mutatis mutandis"I have the same feeling, as 95 % of the inviduals posted here and in other boards that people say look Spanish don´t look Spanish to me. The conclusion is that any two European populations have some phenotypes which overlap, and the more the distance, the fewer individuals that will overlap. Now the question remains whether the similarity in morphology and other features is superficial, or nearly total. To answer your question, there will be very few individuals who could pass for any two of those nationalities.

Weird poll. I wouldn't know for sure as i've never been to ireland or spain. My parents went to spain a while ago, but all they told me was that the cities were very beautifull and tidy and people very fat.
