Crusader DNA impact on middle-east

can any1 give me sum info as to how much european crusaders crontributed to the dna makeup of middle-easterners?

I don't any concrete information but I suspect that it might be more common in Syria and Lebanon as both places served as the sites for most of the battles, and incidentally they also have some of the highest numbers of lighter-haired and lighter-eyed Middle Easterners, along with Turkey, which also served as a stepping stone for European Crusaders journeying to the Holy Land.

Turkey also experienced a significant influx of Slavs, both during the Byzantine period, and later, during the Ottoman times. During the Byzantine period, there was even an ethnic Slavic enclave in what is now north-western Turkey.


You are also forgetting that many of the Crusaders you're talking about were hardly that blond either; most were from Italy and France, hardly the hotbeds of blondism.

Actually, Palestinians have more European-specific DNA than Syrian and Lebanese people.

Not offhand, but I'll see if I can find something. European admixture is really low, though.
