Some say they are European. Others say they are Asians. And yet some say they are middle eastern. I tend to view them as middle easterners, all of turkey too, even the ones from Istanbul.
What do you think?

Well, that depends on what you mean by Middle Eastern. If you mean regionally, yes, they are Middle Eastern. They are also Asian.
If you mean racially though, they are a combination of Middle Eastern (Cappadocian), European (Pontic Mediterranean), and Central Asian (Iranid and Turanid) phenotypes.

Turkey doesn't belong to any of these categories. They are neither European nor Middle Eastern. They are in a cathegory of their own - that's why they have such problems with finding their place on earth.

What about Iran and Afghanistan and Pakistan? Are they middle eastern?

From a geographical point of view, Iran is part of the Middle east, Pakistan is part of South Asia and Afghanistan is part of Central Asia.

OK, it is not like we want to be considered anything like some of the people here. Just do not associate us with something that we are not.
Edit: one more thing to add, for the starter of the thread. As I have said before the difference between Turks living in different parts of Turkey is minimal. And even if there was such a difference, you can be assured that you can not find that in Istanbul. Istanbul's population was something like 2 million in 1970's and it is 12 million now. Istanbul (and other major cities) have immigrants from every part of the country, especially Kurds who have left their homes for several reasoins like terror populate the ghettoes.

Those are pretty neat. I saw the one for east Asia in the Mongoloid thread, too. Do you have any more of these scans?

They come from a book I have which was written by Gordon T. Bowles. I scanned them from the book. I don't like using that book as it is nearly 30 years old, published in 1977 and the references in the back are ancient. Even that German von Eickstedt, that Agrippa is so fond of, is referenced as he was an expert on Andaman Islanders.

I can say Turks are Turks. I don't need any other term. I can recognize a Turk very easily. I don't know how but I can manage it. Most of the people will agree with me. And I think that there are a lot of unknown parts in history and genetic science. We don't know all of the things yet.
