I think some of the racism is just based on cultural incompatibility. In the USA, whites dominate the media and "the System" for the most part, so their prejudices are more well-known and important. However, the feelings of dislike often are mutual.
I've met plenty of African-Americans who marvel at the Anglo-Saxon mania for senseless labor and material acquisition, blind conquest of other people as if their way of life is the only way, dorkiness, physical weakness and ineptitude, and apparently insane pasttimes like jumping out of airplanes. We just seldom hear that side of the story except from personal acquaintainces or our own thoughts.
IMO "superiority" is all about power. Whoever is most powerful gets the right to explain their peculiarities as marks of "superiority." Right now, NW Europeans have the most power in the world, but that is subject to change.

Being half Jewish I've thought about why Jewish people are hated quite a bit. I think it might have something to do with Jewish pride. Jewish people strive to maintain their culture and the purity of their people. They are very proud of themselves. This really isn't any different from any other nation's people. But for millenia they were a minority in other people's countries. However, they never acted as a minority is expected to act. Minorities are supposed to give up their religion in favor of the host country's religion. Minorities are supposed to take low status/income jobs that nobody else wants. Minorities are supposed to have no pride in themselves and are expected to worship the traits of the host population.

Indeed, anti-Jewish sentiment goes back much further than the crucifixion of the Christ.

Then why did you automatically blame Christianity as the root cause of it? Nah, I don't believe that for a second. There can't be that many eschatological wackos in the USA. Probably the true reason is that the American Right subconsciously want to emulate Israeli domestic policies - ethnically exclusive/ethnocentric culture, immigration policy, etc. They lost those things in the 60's, but at least those spunky Israeli Jews can still have them - and they're even kicking darkie Third World ass while they're at it, to boot!

Then why did you automatically blame Christianity as the root cause of it? because modern times the root of anti semitism is based on religion.there where many jusitications for "hating" the jews and all of them came from religous leaders. of course im talking europe/europeans. dude en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jerry_Falwell <~~ people like him have power he is just one of many.i dont think he is a whaco for his belief but its true about israel and why (no surprise) it main supports are christians/fundies.which alot of people would see as you said eschatological wackos

because modern times the root of anti semitism is based on religion. The root of Nazi anti-semitism is based on religion? Um, okay, sure. All of them? Can you prove this? Ironically, what you said applies to non-European Muslims in modern times much better than it does to Europeans.

Most universally hated? Thats a tough one. I would probably go with Blacks and Jews though.
Blacks are hated because they look different.
Jews.....it depends. Europeans hate Jews for religious reasons, but also because Jews look different many times.
The Islamic world hates Jews for religion, although if you look in even their own newspaper cartoons they stereotype jewish features like big noses and black curly hair...which is rather silly because they are characterizing their own features. Wierd.
Geez though, everybody hates Jews around the world. Seriously, its crazy.

but also because Jews look different many times. Interestingly, in actual European medieval drawings, it seems they generally didn't always use the hyper-exaggerated stereotype Jew, but more realistic physical types. www.pbs.org/wnet/heritage/episode4/presentations/4.3.6-1.html Compare those with the Arab newspapers...

The root of Nazi anti-semitism is based on religion? Um, okay, sure. did i say root of nazi was based on religion? but since you brought it up they certianly justified some of it with religion. mel the church is the church.you are acting as if the church itself is perfect.btw i didnt say all religious leaders .you just cut the part you wanted to hear so you can argue what i said: there where many jusitications for "hating" the jews and all of them came from religous leaders.www.jpost.com/servlet/Satellite?pagename=JPost/JPArticle/ShowFull&cid=1087787669010&apage=1
