Im Serbian
....
My Mother's family is from Vojvodina. They have been landlords in Banat during Austro-Hungarian times.
My great-great grandma was Hungarian, and i still have some distant cousins in Zrenjanin(Beczkerek in Hungarian).
Talking about 'opression'of Hungarians is rubbish.
I have Hungarian friends...
Ethnic Hungarians in Serbia have schools, highscools and even university in their language.
In places where Hungarians are majority, they have their own mayors.Inscriptions in Vojvodina are bi-linguistical (Serbian/Hungarian).
Hungarians are members of parliament, and they have their own political parties.
One Hungarian have high position in goverment(Joszef Kasa). He is member of Hungarian unity party.
He is also mayor of Subotica(Szabatka).
There are also generals in Serbian army who are Hungarians, like Geza Farkas.
So really,i dont understand what kind of 'force'Serbs use against Hungarians.
And about claiming the land...
Serbs are majority in Vojvodina. They have good relationship whith Hungarians, and often marry with them.
There are always nut cases who want creation or restoration 'greater Hungary','greater Serbia','greater Romania','greater Poland','fourth Reich'...etc.
I also heard that some Hungarians claim Transylvania...
Slovakia,Transylvania,Vojvodina and Croatia where part of Ugrian kingdom in Austro-Hungary...
However,Vojvodina was and still is populated mostly by Serbs.
Most parts of Vojvodina was ruled by Serbian dukes,or 'Vojvode'.Some of them where my ancestors.
Serbs also lived in Budapest, and central Hungary.
Serbian dukes(Vojvode)ruled this territory as vassals of Hapsburg crown.
There where also Serbian dukedoms in central Hungary(Baia,Pecs,Szekesfehervar ,Szent Andreia),plus Serbian population there, and in Transylvania.
Now Serbs there are mostly absorbed in general population.
Vojvodina actually means 'Dukedom' in Serbian.
