Do the modern day chinese people derive any of their genes from the peking man (asian homo erectus)?
Although it has been shown that all humans have the single-origin from africa, is it possible that there was gene mixing/interbreeding with asian erectus?
I heard peking man has some traits (facial features and shovel shaped incisor teeth) that made it look a bit like the modern chinese.
Indeed, the chinese and other mongoloid people's flat face profile makes them stand out from other races which have a more ridged forehead (brow ridge). Could this be partly derived from erectus features?
I'm not an anthropologist or anything, in fact i know practically nothing compared to most people on this board. I'm just curious to know this.
