I adore Baalbek, so I voted for Rome. Actually I'm not so specially fond of roman architecture or style in general, but the two Baalbek temples look great. Well, one of them is only some huge columns now, but anyway... It isn't that typically roman, neither. But it's most of all roman. I don't like the low, long shape and the colouring doric temples used to have. And the ionic temples were imo too little massive, and also painted, though the capitals looked very nice. Better than the corinthian ones, the Romans preferred. The Parthenon looks also too delicate, in my opinion.

LOL, the Ottoman empire wasn't Ancient, but we still kicked their asses out of Greece The Pesian empire also got their asses kicked by Greeks Listen pichko, theres no need to take cheap shots at Greece just because your country has no history Im sure your ancient people made lovely mud huts first, the Persian Achamanid empire got their asses kicked not by Greeks but by Macedonians! second,You Greeks didn't kick Ottoman's ass out of Greece. You only rebelled and that's the Western powers kicked the Turk's asses out of your country! next time you should be more accurate!

And Macedonians where Greeks!!!..of the Dorian tribe!!
"For in the days of king Deucalion it (i.e. a Macedonian tribe) inhabited the land of Phthiotis, then in the time of Dorus, son of Hellen, the country called Histiaean, under Ossa and Olympus; driven by the Cadmeians from this Histiaean country it settled about Pindus in the parts called Macedonian; thence again it migrated to Dryopia, and at last came from Dryopia into Peloponnesus, where it took the name of Dorian."
(Herod. I, 56, 3 [Loeb, A.D. Godley])
"Your ancestors invaded Macedonia and the rest of Greece and did us great harm, though we had done them no prior injury; ... (and) I have been appointed leader of the Greeks ..."
(Arr., Anab. Alex. II, 14, 4)

China is a great ancient empire because its influence and superpower status lasted such a long time(200 B.C. to 1700 with periods of disunity, civil war, occupation). Also you have to define what you mean by "ancient!" it is very subjective, some people might consider WWI ancient.
