I second you here, Circe!. Berter, I think there is no need to put a dot after an exclamation mark. The same story with question marks.

After all, English is his third language. Well, Circe, Whats my latin orthograph has to do with the number of languages I speak!?. (---notice that french and english orthos are quite the same). Henerte is the first one on all the race forums I'm member of who noticed that I make intensive use of question marks after exclamation marks (-- !?). Its a bad 'habit' that I picked from a french professor i had in my pre-engineering school maths & physics classes. And, yes, Circe, I do speak four languages. Does that impress you!?

[Well, Circe, Whats my latin orthograph has to do with the number of languages I speak!?. (---notice that french and english orthos are quite the same). I must say I haven't paid much attention to your orthography I think that on international forums like these, more attn. should be paid to the contents than to the form of the posts (as long as some decent language standards are maintained, of course). Henerte is the first one on all the race forums I'm member of who noticed that I make intensive use of question marks after exclamation marks (-- !?). Its a bad 'habit' that I picked from a french professor i had in my pre-engineering school maths & physics classes. Henerte has been very perceptive as always And, yes, Circe, I do speak four languages. Does that impress you!? Don't take my comment so seriously, it was just a harmless banter I do know you speak four languages, and that surely is impressive per se, even more so as you are not into linguistics at all

I must admit that I never met a girl as nice as you, Circe! It must be the kind sociocultural environment you are living in!!. I never said anything about putting a question mark after an exclamation mark. There is nothing wrong with that. I was just complaining about periods after question marks and exclamation marks. If you look closer at these marks ( !, ?), you will see that there is a period already in them. I think it's incorrect to write like that and I'm quite sure that even your french professor never put them there.

I think it's incorrect to write like that and I'm quite sure that even your french professor never put them there. First, henerte, I understood very well the remark you made: when an exclamation mark has to be used, there is (usually) no need to add another orthographic mark (whatever might it be). I just thought that you noticed my characteristic sequence --- !?. Noone did observe that before. Second, Yes, my french professor used to put an exclamation mark before any of his question marks. I think that was his way to draw student's attention to his questions. Third, you quoted the wrong post, smarty!

I quoted that post because you had put there a period after two exclamation marks. I noticed this habit of you long time ago, I find it irritating.
