I thought that he considered whatever groups that are tall with long noses to be supreme. We are If you are the chick with the chimp in the pic you posted Agrippa would surely consacrate you with "very progressive". I agree tall chicks with long noses are nice things, but Agrippa nor anyone else ever proved that selection goes in the aestetic direction he points to, and even less that selection goes toward some sort of progress. I didn't vote as I don't like threads against memmbers of the borard nor in general this self referential obsession some dodonites have (such risible tendency is also visible in the new board, where the Anthropology section is ridden with thread like what's your hair color, anthropology indeed).

I really do pick and choose. I've made that point to Agrippa. We had a bit of discussion, and I brought up Stephen Hawking. That ended the discussion. The thing that amuses me is the title of this thread. The first thing I thought was "well, I don't know if I'd lend him twenty bucks." Especially with an Ozian 'vatar. I wouldn't fool myself about the basic visuality of our species. But also evolution demands some variation, a genetic flexiblity, for species survival. If not, genes fail. The hardest thing for people to hear is that who we are is also a series of genetic tendencies. I don't think you can plan evolution. Life is too big for planning, and aesthetics is always and ultimately a matter of personal taste, though there are levels of personal intolerance we must contain if we are to survive as a species. If I found myself standing next to Keeanu Reeves in a black and white Post-Apocalypse everything that Agrippa purports might have some merit. But I don't expect I will be. PS: I did choose my husband, as he chose me
