To Mike the Jedi and all other members who made the same idiotic and obnoxious claim: to assert that the Nazi flag, with its abominable connotation and the repulsive values it embodies, is stylish, is simply an insult to human decency. All I said was that it is pleasing to the eyes. And it is. Red, black, and white color scheme is quite pleasant.

It's the state flag of Hawaii, apparently they put the Union flag on their own flag as a sign of friendship with Britain.

Mike the Jedi, like I told a friend of mine, style and connotation are two values so interrelated and intertwined that's impossible to distinguish and demarcate them properly, like you're attempting to do with that flag.

Not really. It either looks good or it doesn't. There's no "but what's the connotation?" The connotation doesn't make something appealing. The colors, shapes, and design are the things that do that. The Nazis had a kickass sense of style.
Monsters? Yes. Sophisticated? Yes. That's why they gained such a following, because their whole hail-to-the-fatherland platform appealed to the weak-minded German populace who didn't know what they were really getting into.

You're completely right. That's why art critics have jobs.
The colors nations choose for their flags are always symbolic. The combination of red and black may be a pleasant one, but not in this instance. I can't judge it based solely on color scheme like it's a pair of sneakers or something trivial. It's impossible for me to appreciate anything that represents Nazi ideology.

All I'm saying is that it looks spiffy. I'm not saying that what it represents is good, because obviously, it isn't.

That's fine. Just don't expect us Jooooos to share that sentiment.
