Antonio has started to read the latest Harry Potter book. This will take some time as he can only read at a 3rd-grade level. Who the hell is Antonio? And stop making fun of the wonderful Hogwarts Universe! ;D

Herman Hesse's Glass Bead Game is pretty unreadable. In fact, I couldn't finish it, I was bored to death.

By Jove! It IS him, the guy who posts by himself and himself alone, and sometimes has schizo discussions. I think he's genuinely.. genuine; although I can stand him by very small intakes, like 3 posts a day, max. What I've been wondering for some time is that who the hell is that in that picture of his? Certainly not HIM if he's an "arab"? I'm still amazed by his spelling.. beotch? but he's trully blessed by allah. oh sorry.

This guy usually has an average lifespan of 1 hour in any messageboard that he joins. He keeps talking about how he will change...but he never does. Eventually, he gets his ass banned...something that he has become quite adept at doing. Nonetheless, there are some cyberspace refuges that allow his haunting. These are almost always abandoned messageboards that have not been deleted, and no longer has any moderators. Antonio is just a crazy tramp living under a bridge.

The question is not directed to me but I couldn't help getting involved I think Foucault's Pendulum is only likeable; and readable, if you're into what he's writing about: Kabbalah, Western Mysticism, and general esoteric stuff. I am, so the book was a great read for me; and I still count it among one of my favorite books. I think it can get pretty boring if one has no idea what he's talking about though, I imagine one could get rather lost. It's like reading a book in a foreign language that you don't know very well and have no idea what half the vocabulary is..

It's like reading a book in a foreign language that you don't know very well and have no idea what half the vocabulary is.. I took a half-credit course called "Modernity and Modernism" and one of the books on the syllabus was Foucault's "Discipline and Punish". That book went waaaay over my head, and I guess it somewhat jaundiced my opinion of Eco's novel before I started it. I find his interests in Paleography, Semantics, and the Freemasons very enjoyable. Other than that, I found the novel labourious to read. Perhaps because I was trying to read too much into it. Maybe I'll read it again.
