Curly hair is not that common in the iberian peninsula, or at least in Portugal... In my family only my half brother, that has african ancestors has curls, and perhaps the sister of one of my grandmothers, I am not sure... Of my friends only two have curls and one of them has italian ancestors, in my college class only three people have curls and in my high school class only two persons had, and one of them was of jewish descent..
Most people have straigh har, some have wavy hair and curly hair is very infrequent... So, that is probably an east-med trait...I mean, even in Portugal when we see someone with curly hair, we allways think of Italians and Greeks...
About the E3b present in the peninsula I doubt it came trough greek admixture, that was extremely low, but more likely trough north african/berber admixture since they have the second highest, almost first, percentage of that lineage....

I never heard of Italy having more curls than Spain or Portugal,hell its not even East-Med....

Anybody here know the actor Frank Sivero from Goodfellas, the guy had a mini Afro and he is Italian so that sais something. "sais" is a "tony morello" word also bring up frank is another one of his things

Iberians presents a higher degree of straight hair than in Italy. the dark brown hair of many Iberians seems also to lack an element of rufosity present in Italy. In Italy the he average hair shape is wawy with an increase of curlyness especially down south. many italian women straight their hair.
