Green eyes are more common than blue eyes in Italy.

Mine are slate grey, a little darker than huzar's above but with much less brown. A result of a multinational mix with a perhaps surprising element of darker pimentation from an "ethnically pure" Scandinavian source. Not as uncommon as often believed.

This is my shade (very typical in northern Italy : Exactly my eye color, greenish with a small brown ring of the inside.

Wow ! I didn't imagined my eyes could generate such good impression . Thanks to all Yes, Tonyantonuzzi, green eyes are rather common in Italy, especially in the north, obviously ; surely green and grey eyes are much more common than "classic" blue eyes in my country. In northern Italy mixed shades are very common ; from my personal observation, light eyes + mixed shades (like mine) account for about 45-50% of the total
